I'm white with black eye patches and black ears, legs, feet, chest and shoulders. My fur is very thick to protect me from the cold and damp climate where I live. I'm between 5-1/2 and 6-1/2 feet tall and can weigh up to 275 pounds! I live very high in the mountainous regions of Southwest China where there is much bamboo for me to eat. There are 30 different species of bamboo for me to choose from. Because of my digestive system, I must eat a lot of bamboo to keep my energy high. In one day I can eat between 26 and 84 lbs. of bamboo shoots! Our mating takes place from March to May, and females give birth from August to September. Moms usually give birth to 1-2 cubs; occasionally they may give birth to three or even four cubs, but it is rare for more than one cub to survive to adulthood. We are born blind and helpless, with a thin layer of fur. We stay with our mothers for 1-1/2 years. Our reproductive success in captivity is low, and it probably also is in the wild. My reliance on bamboo makes me vulnerable to habitat loss, as well as once being hunted for my fur, meat and body parts. Because of this I have been classified as endangered by the IUCN. For Cold Therapy: Use as fever compress and for minor bumps, bruises, scrapes, headaches, toothaches, minor burns, insect bites, muscle aches, strains and sprains. Store the gel pack inside of the character in the freezer (for at least two hours) so it's ready for emergency care. If the skin is broken, clean and bandage the injured area. To reduce swelling, elevate the injured area and apply the character's satin side to the injury. Apply no longer than 20 minutes, alternate 20 minutes on with 20 minutes off the injury. To help reduce fever symptoms, lay the character's satin side across the forehead or at the back of the neck. (Use along with doctor's prescribed care.) Washing Instructions: Remove get pack before washing character cover. Hand wash cover separately in cold water, line dry, no bleach. Do not iron. Gel pack may be wiped clean with mild soap. For external use only. Use only as directed. Discard gel pack if punctured or torn. Adult supervision is required.
