CryoMax Medium

This is NOT for a severe Migraine patient. Too hard and uncomfortable. Was disappointed. i gave it to someone with knee problems and back pain. i hope it helped.

Great for a painful knee. i also used it after knee surgery and its very comfortable, and took the swelling down better than i expected, as well as easing the pain.

I needed to wrap around my hand an it's too stiff. After 16 hours in the freezer, still not cold enough to get relief. I am going to return them and buy cheaper more effective ones.

This Cryomax ice pack was not what I expected. Seeing the blue balls made me think that they were going to be like the ice packs that have hundreds of little gel like balls which allow the ice pack to be comfortably used on injuries. This is not the case. This ice pack freezes rock solid. The blue balls are just colored that way. There is no jelly like substance within—it freezes hard like ice cubes and lacks flexibility other than a small amount of bend from the plastic areas in between the hard ice balls. I purchased it for my knee. While it is frozen, it is in no way comfortable to use on a knee or any other small body part. When it's frozen solid, other than using flat for the lower back, it is extremely uncomfortable to use. Rock hard on an injury, again, unless using this thing with it laying flat, that's a no go. The fabric cover is soft and well-made. If the ice pack were flexible, the cover would be awesome! I love the cover; however, I do not appreciate that, per the instructions, the ice pack must be placed in its cover in order for it to be put in the freezer. With my other flexible ice packs, the cover can remain outside of the freezer so it's fresh and clean for its next use. It doesn't really just last up to eight hours. When you're doing 20 minutes on/20 minutes off, you have to wrap it in a thick towel or put it back in the freezer. Without following those instructions, “the CryoMax may not last up to eight hours.” If you needed to use something semi-flexible but rockhard solid to wrap up a food item to keep in your cooler, that would be a great purpose for this ice pack. For body parts, it is extremely uncomfortable to use since only the cover is soft.

The gel cushion is very comfortable. However, the material used for the cover is not very sturdy. I have been using it for 11 days, and there is a large hole worn into it already. the material tears like tights.
