I recieved a pack of Duracell Quantum to trial a few weeks back. As the mom of 4, including 3 busy boys, we fly through the generic brands in an attempt to save. This of course means spending more in the long run. I have had the Quantums in a noisy dinosaur and truck since I got them and they are still going strong. I have seen many reviews on remote controls or video games so thought I would attempt to test something a little different, as it seems these batteries really work well. So far, worth the money! Thank Duracell for allowing me to try these out (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
I don't have much use of battery except on my daughter's toys and my wireless mouse. Since I use my mouse every day, and is one of the battery operated equipment I'm most familiar with, I use it as my testing rig. I typically feed my Logitech G602 wireless mouse with Duracell Procell I obtain from work. In average, I replace my battery about once every 2 weeks. (Yes! I'm a very heavy mouse user, and I love to keep my mouse on high power mode.) As soon as I received the Duracell Quantum, I have feed my mouse the brand new Duracell Quantum battery. So far, after almost two weeks of use, I have already received the 20% battery warning. In compare to the Duracell Procell I normally use, I see no difference at all. So far, the only major difference I see on the battery is the build in battery tester ,which drains your battery when you use it. With the price about 20% more expensive comparing to the Duracell Coppertop and Procell, I will say the Duracell Quantum is only a gimmick and definitely not worth it. I received a 4-pack AA batteries from Duracell to try it out and it's a great product so far! The "PowerCheck" gauge on the side is a nice comeback feature. The thing that impressed me the most is how powerful these batteries seem to be; they look like they pack more energy than the regular batteries I use. I always buy brand name batteries as the dollar store ones are just cheap and die before you sneeze. I received Duracell Quantum AA (4 count) as a promotion from Duracell and right away I knew I like them. They have a Power Check right on the battery to tell you the health of the battery. You press on both sides of the gauge to check. Of course, I checked to make sure all 4 batteries are full :) This is a very helpful feature when your device starts to act up and you're not sure if it's the battery or something else (kids dropped it, dog licked it, etc). Time will tell if they last a long time, but I'm sure they will, Duracell is well known. As I mentioned, they were given to me by Duracell to review, but my review is not influenced by them. I wasn't expecting anything too special when Duracell sent me 4 free Duracell Quantum Batteries. I was very pleasantly surprised. We're a household full of gamers and we are always buying batteries to power our wireless controllers. These batteries lasted at least three times as long as others. Around the time I would expect to have to replace my batteries, I used the Power Check and saw the batteries were not far from the full mark. I will definitely buy these in the future!
