Spectacular tire. < br>Different weight loads require changing the tire air pressures to prevent hazardous vehicle responses.
This is my second set of Blizzaks, the first was on a 2wd Chevy 2500. Night and day on that truck, just the ability to handle on ice makes the priceof the tires worthwhile. The confidence of sure footing in rough conditions ispriceless! The tires do sing a little bit on dry pavement. My friend has those tires and they still look like new, they are about 10 years old! The wear on them is far better than expected. The set on the Ford were on my old Ford, 6 years later and they are not past the 'snow' wear bar yet. Don't be fooled by my 'location', I do lots of winter driving with trailers. Extremely satisfied all theway around.
My first Duramax and first 4wd. Kinda depressing because I never really need 4wd with these SWEET stud-less winter tires. Run them Nov-Mar in wet mild Seattle area, and they do grip well in the wet, you are not going tohydroplane with 18/32 tread depth! Anybody running studs in the Seattle area does not realize the danger to their handling and stopping distance on our wet roads. Not to mention the noise and damage to the roads. We also make frequent trips over Snoqualmie Pass to WSU in Pullman. 2009 winter was severe and we decided to take the little maintained Spraque route back to I-90 in a snow storm with drifts and all, not a wise choice. Now I know why they lift trucks! We chugged right thru past St John until we came to a semi blocking the road. Backed up with the Blazzaks for a 1/4 mile to a turn-around point and went back via Hwy 26. Rigs in ditches all along the way, yet we never slipped once. Winter of 2011 supposed to be hairy again - can't wait to get the Blizzaks back on the rig!We run Toyo H/T's in the summer. After we are done with east side college winter trips, going to try Michelin LTX A/T2 for year round use and increased MPG. BLIZZAKS ROCK FOR DEDICATED WINTER TIRES!
Very Quiet seems to hold the road very well. The snow/Ice traction is 100% better than my Michelin ATX2 which are now my summer tires. The only drawback is on gravel roads they hold and throw stones like no other I have had,but the traction is great. Mudflaps and running boards would keep the stones down. The best tire for a 3/4 ton diesel crewcab, I can no get up my driveway in 2 wheel drive..
I have owned six sets of Blizzack tires and would not use a vehicle in our snow belt without them. I use them on my personal SUV, my wife's Jeep and on my plow truck. They go through anything, and have never let me down. They ride smoothly and quietly and for the traction they offer the tread wear is morethan fine. These are my absolute favorite tires!
