I never knew that countertop dishwashers like these existed until I saw one of them in a Japanese movie (makes sense, because a lot of people in Japan live in smaller apartments). I must say, I'm baffled that more people around here don't have them. This is a dream come true for those who live in apartments where a regular dishwasher is unfeasible and who either don't like doing dishes or prefer dishwashers because they're more sanitary. Hook up is VERY easy; you just screw the hoses onto the back of the dishwasher and connect the weird-looking connector thing at the other end to your faucet and you're all set. Though make sure all of the hoses are securely tightened or it WILL leak. The space inside is good enough to do 2-3 days worth of dishes for me, but I'm a single guy so take that with a grain of salt. The unit has 4 wash modes. The "Intense Wash" mode seems to be the best, and it even made a frying pan with dried-on food from a couple days ago come out spotless (using Cascade powder detergent). Dishes come out pretty dry, though some may still have water droplets on them. Definitely get JetDry or other rinse agents to prevent water spots. Great functionality aside, the noise is pretty loud--more like a washing machine than a conventional dishwasher--although certainly not unbearable. Cosmetically, the unit is very nice looking. Make sure you measure though, because it'll be a snug fit under your cabinets and is rather large in terms of depth and width. The window on the front of it is pretty slick-looking, too, and a very nice touch. Overall, I'd strongly recommend this to anyone in a similar situation as myself (apartment w/o dishwasher) based solely upon the quality of the product. However, taking the cheap price into account I'd say it's a must-buy. Also, I'd also definitely recommend buying from Walmart specifically. I looked around for a while and, not only do they have the cheapest price, but they also seem to have the best shipping (assuming other retailers' estimated shipping times were accurate). I purchased the unit on Wednesday and received it on Friday of the same week--that's 2 days later--for only $12 dollars in shipping fees. Considering the item weighs 57 lbs. and everywhere else charges you $40+, I'd say that's exceptionally reasonable. Also, if you're not in a hurry you can have them ship it to your local Walmart for free and you can pick it up there. You can't go wrong. Anyways, I hope this was helpful and good luck finding a dishwasher!
about a year ago my BF was complaining about science experiments in the sink. I decided to invest in a counter top dishwasher. (Boy did I surprise him) I read the reviews here and made my choice. It is a little louder than I had hope for, so I turn it on when I go to bed and just close my door. In the morning all my dishes are done. The dishwasher also doesn't dry the dishes. I open the door, pull out the rack and let them air dry. The only thing I don't like about it is I can't tell where it is in the cycle. I don't know how much longer it has to run. I live by myself, so this dishwasher is perfect for me. It works great. perfect for small families. Buy this product, you'll be glad you did.
I bought this for our rental house which is older and didnt have a dishwasher. I was having to wash baby bottles by hand every day and it was driving me crazy! This dishwasher has eben a lifesaver!!! I always use the energy saving cycle and it gets everything super clean!! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!!
So far I consider it to be a good purchase (after 2-3 weeks of usage). You won't be able to fit a lot of dishes in it. And I still need to wash big pans and pots by hand. But it's helpful to wash smaller ones. The window is helpful to see if the watering arm is going around, as it has a tendency to be stopped by some dishes that stick down from the rack. To stop this from happening I installed an additional net on the rack because some of its gaps are pretty large. Installation is easy and it fits on my counter top (barely!). And there was a pleasant surprise. I'm using a gel detergent, that cleaned some residue from my dishes that accumulated for years. My dishes look like new…
I recently lost the use of my right hand and needed help doing dishes. The Danby Dishwasher was the best thing I ever got! I love doing dishes & now that I have the Danby dishwasher, I really love doing dishes! I wish I got this a long time ago. I live by myself, the dishwasher is perfect for doing all the dishes at the end of the day. Five wash settings; interactive normaL rapid economy pre wash. NO DRYING CYCLE - Most countertop units do not have a drying cycle. Leaving the door ajar when finished washing will allow the dishes to dry (as per the manual). Very nice quality and looks to the unit however the host connection is a little week so I purchased a new 1 at Ace hardware store USE LIQUID CASCADE & JET DRY FOR SUPER CLEAN SPOTLESS DISHES! JET DRY HELPS DRY DISHES QUICKER. There are no instructions on how to properly load the dishes so you will need to move things around each time you add more dishes (if you have odd sized items) The unit was too tall 17.5", to fit under my counters so I had to put it on top of my dryer which worked perfect for my small kitchen. If you are short on space and must have a dishwasher, this is the one!
