This bookshelf was easy to assemble. It is exactly what we wanted, and the price was well worth it. If you are looking for solid wood elegance, this is not the product you want. If you are looking for a useful bookshelf that looks just fine, this is a good value.

The shipping price kind of ruined the fun of the price. It was darker then the picture showed so it doesn't really match my furniture. However it was easy to assemble and other then that looks nice. It does want to warp so I had to take all of my heavy books off. For the price it is okay but not great for long term.

We were very pleased with the bookshelf. It was very sturdy for the price we paid, and the finished product was nice to look at to boot.

These are really nice bookshelves for the price. They certainly look a lot more expensive than they are. Assembly: I had no trouble putting them together, but you do have to be very careful to put screws and nails in straight or you will take a chip out of the shelf. Fortunately, that happened where it wasn't visible when I put the shelves next to each other. Durability: If you fill them with hardcover books, the shelves will bow--they're only pressboard, after all. You can safely put hardbacks on the bottom shelf (which has more support). You can also put a couple of hardbacks near the sides of each upper shelf (where the supports can carry the load) and put paperbacks, knick-knacks or other lighter items in the middle. Someday when I have the money I'll replace these with sturdier hardwood shelves but, for now, they get the books off the floor and look nice enough - and for the price I can afford enough of them to spread the heavy books around.

The only flaw was a thin scratch on the right side panel, but my husband was able to cover it up. It looks great in our son's room. Even though the shipping cost was $24, it was still worth the price paid.
