1/2" chuck is a must! Very strong power. You always need a corded drill for heavier work.

I bought this when my old Black and Decker died. It's good and heavy, which means stable. I am impressed with the power, and the two finger trigger is neat. I'm not in love with the location of the direction and lock on switches, but I'll live with it. Overall, you can't beat the value. Another unexpected plus is the ability to use the smallest bits out there. You could chuck up a sewing needle if you wanted to. The thing also puts out enough air to keep you cool as you work!
