Excellent right out of the box. Only misstep I see was that one of the two switches on the Powerhead where the power cord enters are not covered in the instruction manual as to function, It works very well but I was expecting the shred to be finer, when compared to the shredder it replaced (PS80C-2).

I decided to purchase a new shredder because the shredder I was using before had started to jam/stop working pretty frequently. I knew before purchasing my new shredder that I wanted to purchase a Fellowes. This is my first time using a Fellowes shredder. I love how heavy duty it is. It shreds paper fast and smoothly. This particular model (Powershred P-12C) says it will automatically turn off after 5 minutes of use, for cool down. However, I successfully used mine for well over an hour with absolutely no over-heating. Some cons are : I like "diamond cut" rather than "cross cut" just because it's smaller and makes important papers impossible to read. It is also a lot louder than I would have thought (doesn't bother me though). Also, once the bin is full the shredder shuts off automatically, and when you try to pull the bin out, it is very difficult because the bin is too full, which requires you to stick your hand in the bin to push the paper down/pull the bin out. Besides those slight cons, it wouldn't stop me from purchasing another Fellowes shredder in the future. I am extremely happy, and my shredder works great!

I like this shredder except for the fact that there is no sensor to let you know it is time to empty the bin. on several occasions I have had to dig out shredded paper and in the process paper was all over the floor. I know there is a window to see how much is in the bin but by the time you see it good its too late. you then have to dig the paper out cause the bin is stuck.

Have only had this product for about one week, so I can't really give a proper rating, however all indications point toward this being a good choice. It runs very smoothly and doesn't bog down with credit cards or several pieces of paper. At this point I am very pleased with the purchase.

Bought this because wife ruined light duty shredder. This one seems to be up to the task of destroying sensitive paper information. Still pull staples and paper clips, just cannot see running them through shredder, even though it says it is O.K. Too bad made in China, lots of people in U.S.A. need jobs.
