New Poulan PLN1514 14" Bar 1.5hp Corded Electric Chain Saw Tree Chainsaw Compact

I had a Remington 10" Electric Chain Saw for 26 years and when the plastic housing broke I wanted to replace it with something as close to it as possible. The Poulan matched the old Remington better than newer models of Remington. I have only used briefly but I am very impressed with the operation..

The chain jumped on the first use. It is not powerful enough, and it clogs full of branches too often. I understand it is a miracle to have something that works and is this cheap, but it only worked for a few minutes. It is not worth the hassle. It is not much better than a 30 dollar electric trimmer.

The chainsaw works well enough. The problem is it is very shaky, or wobbles when being used. Feels like it really don't have a great deal of power. I feel it's ok for light weight work.

Gas operated saws make me nervous and even though I have used many types in the past, as an old timer now I wanted something to do some, somewhat small jobs without having to worry about gas and oil mixture or weight, or throwing my arm out pull staring it. Well this little power house was just what I needed. Removed two stumps in my yard and though the blade did get dull and I found it hard to find a replacement on line or in stores I did get one in Lowes. It is an Oregon brand and it will not say the name Poulan on the front it will show this Poulans model number on the back of the box. Just remember the link total for the fourteen inch is LESS than FIFTY. The Oregon was a perfect match and saved me the buying of a chain on line and paying tax and postage that would of been half the price of a new saw. All in all a good saw.

Chain saw cuts tree branches, but it shreds smaller bush branches, not making clean cuts.
