loved the saw ,power , however the chain Broke within the first 5 minutes of use. Now waiting on replacement chain
After about 15 mins of solid performance, the chain slipped off. To get it back on, I reomoved the side panel, which is also integrated to the safety brake. Apparently the brake must be in the secure/off position when you remove it, or you completely hose the unit, as I could not get it to properly seat again, and therein the unit would not function as chain would not move. Dutifully I followed directions to "call before you return" and agent recognized immediately that this was the issue...and directed me to take the unit to the closest service site, 30 miles away. So obviously I was not the first customer with this issue. Just had a Stihl ... it was equally "safe" but to put the safety feature into the part that is most removed/replaced is just plain stupid. I am thankful that Walmart honored their return policy. Replaced the unit with electric battery unit....moving off 2 cycle engines and the many hours of misery they have consumed in my life!
Then I would've been able to the saw the thought of buying a Remington. I wasn't even cutting thicker than saplings at their base and the chain popped off. I have replaced the chain and the chainsaw turns when the chain and other components are off, but not when the chain and case are on. I have loosened to some extent without creating an overt danger, and the blade still won't turn. I ensured the bar wasn't bent or cracked or dented. Remington won't do anything, so Blemon is right at least on their customer service. Is this the type of company you want your hard earned dollars to go? Never again, Echo or Husqvarna is unfortunately the only two viable gas options available.
This saw runs strong, idles perfectly. Hard to start the first few cold starts, until I decided to press the primer bulb only 3 times, instead of 10 as instructed when cold. Now it starts easily. Will always restart with 1 or 2 pulls. Built very well, except for the chintcy kill switch. The side plate is metal, most saws are plastic. Better bar and chain than other saws in this price range. Better case as well.
Great saw for the money, starts right up, cuts big logs like butter [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
