I had to return the unit. Too many phone calls were needed to tech support. The unit not only had a defective charger and/or battery (tech support could not say which), but it also could not consistently connect even when plugged in to the wall. Tech support could diagnose this either. I was also getting false alarms about needing to refill - - that was the last straw. These alarms are so aggressive that Internet To Go disabled my access to WalMart.com - - I was automatically redirected away from WalMart.com - - this was not a popup; I was simply thrown off WalMart's website - - while other websites continued to work as usual. Consider the irony that WalMart's own device blocked me from using WalMart's website, but I could continue to shop at Target.com using the same device - - wouldn't you think it would be the reverse, to keep me from buying a replacement for this device?

We contacted customer service to find out why our internet signal was so slow and intermittent. Their reply was 'there's probably a lot of people accessing the service right now, so you'll just have to wait and try back later.' Really? Who wants this kind of internet? C Ya...it went back to Walmart the same day.

I purchased this with the intent of using it at conventions/trade shows. It was easy to set up and the price of the data service was very reasonable. Outdoors and at home, the signal was strong and it was a useful service. When I went inside a large hotel to use it, the signal was almost non-existent. I was still in the city where the service was supposed to be covered (in the same zip code). I plan to return it. Had it worked even moderately well on the trade-show floor, I would keep it. The service would work for mere moments and then drop off entirely. I gave it a chance over 3 days, but the reception never improved.

I was uncomfortable signing up for a data plan with one of the phone companies so decided to try the hotspot instead. The purchase was delivered in a fairly timely manner, however, I neglected to purchase the refill card at the same time as I was unaware that data also must be purchased along with the card. So far so good. I will have to do some "field testing" before I am really sold on this device.

I bought this hot spot to get the data plan. The hotspot is small and convenient, about the size of a stack of 5 credit cards. The battery life is short, 4 hours is claimed, but I have been getting less than that. The range if the Bluetooth connection is average. The data plan is excellent. You buy data on-line (do not buy a re-fill card) as it is mostly not available at Walmart. The data does not expire and you use it until you are finished - as opposed to every other data plan which gives you data that expires at the end of the month. I think this is how ALL data plans should work.
