My three year old son received this for Christmas and loves it! It is easy to learn and is inexpensive for a gaming system. User friendly and easy to learn for his age.

My 4 year old son got this as a Christmas gift and at first I was against it. I feel like he is too young to start playing video games but when he opened the gift he was in love. He is a huge rescue bots fan and couldn't wait to start playing. I was worried he would get frustrated and not be able to play the game but I was very happy when he started playing that the controls were easy for him to use. I was shocked at how quickly he picked it up. Even my 2 year old daughter plays. I have to give her more directions while she is playing and she doesn't win any gold medals but she can do it by herself and enjoys playing it too. One possible downfall is my son completed the game that was included the first time he played, but he doesn't mind playing the same levels over and over again and actually likes being able to pick which level he wants to play. And it is nice that the additional games you can purchase are very reasonably priced. We will be buying more games for sure. For being a against it at first, I have to say the system is pretty cool. It is great for little ones that are just learning to play video games. My son's review, "This is the best video game I ever had!" (I reminded him it's the only video game he's ever had.) ;)

My son loves to play Rescue Bots. He is always asking to turn off the TV and play HIS game. It takes a little time to get used to the control but when I remember the look on his face the first time he played it was worth the effort. He always wants to play games with the older kids but their games are to difficult so I was glad to find this system for him. I received the Transformers Rescue Bots Beam Box Game System free because I am a BuzzAgent.

We received the Transformers Rescue Bots Beam Box game to try and review (Thanks Bzz Agent!!) My two boys (ages 3 and 7) were super excited to give it a try. They had not heard of the game before we received our unit but they love Transformers so they were more than willing to give it a try. We hooked it up and loaded Optimus Prime in the box and pressed the big blue button.... and NOTHING! After a few attempts, we decided that maybe there was a problem with the Optimus Prime Figure so we purchased a Bumble Bee Rescue Bot to try. We got the same results... NOTHING! If I had purchased the Beam Box, I would have returned it as defective, but since it was provided at no cost, I did not have that option. I decided to check it out and try to find out what the problem was. Turns out there was a loose connection inside. Once I was able to better secure the connection, the character was beamed into the game and we were able to play! The game held the attention of my 7 year old, who is a HUGE Skylanders fan. He loved playing and played as long as we would let him. My 3 year old had a bit of trouble with the controls and getting things going but he was very content to let Dad help and also watch his brother. Before long, the game stopped responding to the characters... the connection was loose again. I disassembled the box and repaired again, which lasted for a few more days. My boys LOVE the game, but it seems to be a bit cheaply made. A few other observations: The removable rear door is a very good idea, we have had characters stuck a few times and I do not know how we would have fixed it without the door. The characters will only beam if loaded correctly and, initially, it's not completely clear the proper way to load. I thought this was our problem initially but soon realized that the characters were being loaded correctly but the game was not responding. The games are great, both my boys loved them and have a great time playing. I gave it three stars because I think it is a great idea and my boys really do enjoy it. I am not sure the unit will withstand the wear and tear of preschoolers and even older. They way you have to press the button to "beam" the character seems to invite damage as it takes quite a bit of force to push the button. I am glad that we received the unit at no cost from BzzAgent as I would have been very disappointed if I had paid retail for the game. It would have been 5 stars had we not had the issues that we had to get the unit to work.
