HART 20-Volt Brushless 4-1/2-inch Angle Grinder/Cutoff Tool (Battery Not Included), New Condition

I have the HART kit and was excited to receive the HART 20-Volt Brushless 4-1/2-Inch Angle Grinder/Cutoff Tool. The grinder came with the cutting wheel, grinding wheel, two guards, wrench, and instruction guide. I love the multi-options handle, the easy install of blades, and the well written operator's manual. I thought this tool would be an excellent opportunity to tackle the rust on my permanently entrenched long abandoned basketball pole. This pole stands in my back yard patio and taunts me every time I go outside. So, my first project planned was to remove the rust that covered this pole. I read the guide through and through plus watched quite a few videos that I found while searching the internet. I put everything together, installed the grinding wheel, and went to work on that pole like I was a pro. I soon remembered that I was a newbie with this tool and my ego took a tumble. The rust was barely touched! I learned the importance of using the correct wheel for each job. It dawned on me that the wire wheel would probably be best for this project. Just as I was about to declare the grinding wheel useless, my landscaper asked if he could try it out in sharpening his mower blades. Voila, the grinding wheel worked beautifully, even on the really rusty blades! The #1 lesson of the day: this newbie has a bit more learning to do!

Because I already own several HART tools, batteries and chargers, I knew this HART angle grinder would be a great tool to have in my tool box. The angle grinder has performed to perfection every task I could come up with to try it on. First, I used the angle grinder to sharpen garden tools, shovels, garden hoes, lopping tools, and a flat hoe. The hart angle grinder was easy to use, and all my tools are sharp and ready for any task. Next I used the cutting attachment to remove several screws that were left imbedded and above the surface of a concrete porch where old metal railings once stood. The HART angle grinder cutoff tool made quick work of this task that had been pestering me for months. I am glad to have this tool and I have plans for it's use to convert old hunting stands into a garden arbor.

My old angle grinder was about worn out and this 20 volt Hart tool looked like it could be a nice replacement. I haven't had too many opportunities to use the tool yet, but have been fairly pleased with it the times I did use it. The tool comes with everything that one would need to use it except the battery and charger. I already owned another Hard 20 volt tool and was good to go when I needed to use it. I especially liked the adjustable blade shield that would pivot to different positions depending on how the tool was being used. It also comes with the blade tool that nests inside the handle which is a nice touch and keeps it handy for blade changes. Also, there is a cut-off blade and a grinding wheel that was also included. There a couple of things that I was not a fan of, one being the lock-out switch that must be operated in order to toogle the tool on. The position and motion required to operate it was pretty cumbersome for me when I was using it. Also, I like to keep my tools nice and clean and looking good, but I feel that the white body of the tool is going to get grubby pretty fast, especially with any kind of heavy usage. The Operator's Manual is also pretty confusing in the way it is laid out. For example it cites several figures to see when using the tool, but one place it tell you to see Figure 1, page 11 to replace the guard, but this is already on page 11 and there are no illustrations on that page. One has to go all the way to the rear of the manual to find these illustrations, a bit of a pain in my opinion. All in all it does a decent job.

The Hart 20- V 4 1/2 inch angle grinder is a nice lightweight, gripping power and has a trigger that works effortlessly. Has a nice hold button to take your finger off to relax your finger while still working. I really like the clean smooth cut compared to other types of saws I've used. When I pieced everything together, the instructions did not include a pictorial to assist me until I was at the very end when I realized it was actually there. It would be nice to have the pictures nearer to the front or wording to look at the pack.
