Kidde Battery Operated Wireless Interconnect Smoke Alarm RF-SM-DC

I have these in a six unit apartment building and I find them to be of good quality and to work well. there is a cost to replace the batteries but if you put decent ones in the last you about a year or more

Every night it beeps and wakes me up. Several times in the middle of the night it has started to yell fire and begins beeping, scaring me to death. I have tried to get is off the ceiling but for it was too hard. Today, I came home, and it was yelling fire and beeping nonstop. Then it said something like cannot disable because of too much smoke, nothing would stop it. It is like The Terminator fire alarm. I am disabled but still had to climb up a three-step ladder and still could not get it open to try to stop it. I finally hit it with my cane on the side and it stopped. I got a long screwdriver and plied the cover off, twisting was impossible. Finally, I got it off and got it apart from the base stuck in the ceiling. But now the alarm is sitting on my kitchen table, and it still goes off yelling fire and beeping loudly. Nothing will kill this alarm. My next move is to get a hammer and smash it. However, living with this and the other Kidde alarms throughout my house for three years, even that may not kill it. I may need to put a wooden stake through it's heart, to kill it. It is either The Terminator, Vampire, or Zombie alarm. Regretfully, I have one in each room of my house. I have to do the same thing to the one in the basement, and upstairs hallway. If you are elderly or disabled, this is not the alarm you want.

Purchased 10 of the kiddie interconnected smoke detectors as we needed the interconnected feature to meet state requirements. They were easy to sync together and simple to install. A must buy for people seeking the connect ability without the hassle of rewiring your home. Just wished they had a CO alarm that works with this feature.
