great item easy to install anf use

I found the setup was a bit flaky when I first gave it a shot. It went thru a couple iterations without being able to join even though it could see the wifi. After doing a reset to clear any previous settings, it joined the wifi network quickly. Some configuration must have been left on it from product testing. These aren't going to fit every outlet box. I have a new build with all new electrical using the standard metal single outlet boxes and it wouldn't fit. Luckily I hadn't done the drywall taping yet so I was able to remove the drywall and replace the outlet box with a larger plastic (eewww, I hate plastic outlet boxes) one that it would fit in. If you don't have a new installation (where you haven't hung drywall yet) or you have small metal outlet boxes in the wall, forget about installing these. These are quite deep so if the wire clamps in your outlet box come in on the side, like most do, they won't fit. The wires need to come into the outlet box from the back. Otherwise they seem to work fine so far. It's only been a week or so but I think they will work well. Being able to turn them on or off without going into the garage in the cold to turn the heat on is a bonus.

Easy do-it-yourself installation. I chose to install the Smart Wi-Fi outlets in my living room. After installation, I spent more time and countless attempts getting Geeni to connect to the home Wi-Fi network. Overall, I love how I can simultaneously or independently control both AC and USB ports using the Geeni App and others such as Alexa.

I love that I can come into a dark home or room and ask Alexa to turn on the light. It has so many features double outlet, two usb ports. And it can all be run by an app on your phone.
