It is of poorer quality, but you get what you pay for. It is nice and does work. Just the wood type is that "don't turn the screw too tight or you will strip the wood." Also I liked the little book shelve it came with, it os a nice, mini gift. Also it takes time to put together so be prepared that you will be taking some time out of your day, and to read the directions carefully.

Two shelves from the desk portion were broken. Too heavy and too much trouble to return. The box arrived with a big hole that caused the damage. Very dissapointing.

I read through the reviews before I bought this, and the only thing bad I saw was about how hard the assembly is. I said, it's only a couple pieces of wood and some metal bars, how hard could it be? I sure did learn the hard way! It was a nightmare to put together. The shelf space connectors under the desk ended up shredding the wood, so now the shelf isn't connected on one end. You just have to be super careful when screwing the connectors to the wood, or you've messed up the entire piece! Overall, it's a nice size and fits everything we needed it to.

hardware was not adequate. some screws were too long-came through top . Screws did not grab like they should have and when i tried to move it screws came out and ruined the pressed board leaving big holes. Costs me alot of money to replace boards. If I had not thrown the packing away it would have been returned. I would also like to add used a # 2 screwdriver not an electric one.

Great looking, cheap materials, screws pulled out of particle board on numerous pieces, and the heads of the screws rounded of sometimes. All pieces were there but some question on which screws to use. If Nuts and bolts wre used, would have been sturdier, I replaced some with those but had to go all the way through board, which made sturdier. Would not recommend just because of particle board.
