Astak Pan/tilt Camera W/ Monitor

The good is the color of the video and sound. Till you go to bed and you can not turn off the video and your hole room is light up. Also I us a ear piece to talk on my Cell Phone and it made the monitor turn to static and the picture jump.

Back Story: I have a child with very significant challenges who is supported with eyes on supervision. I have two other types of monitors that were supposed to have audio and do not, and also require a TV or monitor for veiwing. The Bad News: The camera interferes with my in-home wireless network, howerver the monitor still pulls in the other two cameras from a different brand so I kept those as backups. At times the sound is staticy, but, I can still hear clearly enough. The Good News: My child is able to have more independance and freedom while not right with me. I can finally stop being interrupted to check on my child, as the monitor is right wherever I am, the yard, kitchen, driveway when Im shoveling, etc, and instead of having to go over to the receiver to switch between cameras for alternate angles, I simply pan around the room. (but I can also switch between cameras right from the montior) My child has increased privacy whenever there are guests in our home due to not having to check on him on the TV, its just a small monitor that is more discreet. In addition, I do not have to actually go into his room when there are guests and risk waking or disrupting him unnecessarily. This monitor system is so convenient and easy to use, just plug it in and your done. Any of you who share my experience of having a child whose health and safety is best served with monitoring knows how disruptive it can be, yet we would do no less for our childen, this is an absolutely wonderful tool. AND the apparance of the camera is more mature than the classic baby monitor systems on the market today, so you also reduce any sense of humiliation - this is so perfect for us!!!!

I purchased this product thinking it would be great as a baby monitor. The picture quality was very acceptable day and night. And the pan/tilt feature was wonder and worked as advertised. However, the sound quality was just terrible. There was constant static and crackling over the monitor if I was more than 5 feet away from the camera. I won't have been able to see using this as a baby monitor at all. I tried all the 3 channels and even played with the antenna with no success. My baby's room is just 10 feet down the hall. I ended up getting another baby monitor.

I bought this video monitor to use in my car so I could watch my son when I drove alone or at night. The monitor only worked for three days before it turned into solid lines across the screen.

I believe the product is a good product, but the product produces alot of static. In fairness to the product the other products that are similar have the same problem if not worse. With the cost of this product I felt it was worth a try and for the money I spent I wouldn't throw it away. I would recommend it to a friend ,but would tell them my experience. The overall value was ok when you look at other products of the same type.
