Battery Tender 12 Volt , 5 Amp Battery Charger

Works great

This is the 2nd one we've had. Gave the other one to a relative. Never had any problems. Thought the price was high but, isn't everything.

Took a couple of manual readings to be comfortable with setting it up, and 3-4 youtube videos also helped. Our first cars battery was depleted and took over 16 hours to charge fully; the 2nd only about 8 hours to full charge. I'm a fan, and hope it works for years!!

I bought this battery tender to replace one for my spare pickup that developed a broken pin after our last sub zero snap. It has more options than my old one and is specifically designed for pickup batteries. Has done a great job.

Before purchasing this 4 amp BT, I completed testing on 3 different battery chargers/ tenders. Testing backed up by captured data shows Deltran BT and CTEK produce known good charging/ maintaining performance. NoCo does NOT and will not be used on any new(er) full sized battery because of the damaging behavior on new batteries ( de-sulfate , excess period of gassing voltage) Have been using 3 Battery Tenders Jr's since 2011 on “Powersports” batteries. Flawless in maintaining < 40ah batteries. Since cold snap this winter , had 2 Interstate/ Johnson Control/ Clarios made batteries go dead on full sized vehicles. Replaced 1 on truck that was only 4.5 years old. Other is right at 3 years ( the exact warranty period) Have now installed 2 more BT's. Added external SAE connector on a 4Runner mounted in grill and use external mounted BT 4a. Installed AC power port on truck and Velcro mounted BT 1.25a on air intake area. Engine compartment had more room to mount charger inside. Tested the NoCo 2D but has unpredictable behavior and will not use on a new battery. Currently have the Noco on the 3 year old Interstate that couldn't handle cold on a 20 yr old Highlander that I am not concerned about damaging older battery. All good with the Battery Tender and CTEK chargers for known behavior. As mentioned , and in capture photos, the NoCo will perform a de-sulfate cycle ,repeatedly , on brand new battery ?? They do not publish their actual charging algorithm like the other companies do so who knows. Noco running a repeating de-sulfate cycle on a brand NEW 2 week old battery is wrong! So far pleased with normal behaving pulsed “ floating” voltage of new Deltran BT's on full sized 70ah batteries. The Deltran BT's go thru 5 steps…Qualification, Bulk Charge, Absorption, Equalization and Float/ Maintenance Charge. The off brand does NOT. Should have done this years ago for truck/SUV Interstates/ Clarios made batteries that only have 3 yr warranty.
