I am a balding male who shaves his head regularly. Like once every two to three days. I tend to go through many razors - and have tried discount razors and expensive razors... Doesn't matter, still a pain in the butt and costly over time. I had the opportunity to try this Braun razor, and while most reviews you see are about a clean shaven face, mine is the opposite. I keep scruffy beard, and shave only my neck and head. So, I've decided to switch 100% to using this device for all my needs for the past few weeks. Honest review is that I give it 5 stars. First, it's convenient. I use this in the shower and don't even put any lotion or anything on. Just shave away. It gets all the odd nooks and crannies on my scalp. This razor is durable, sturdy and holds well in the hand. One thing to note is that I find myself having to go at all different directions to get a close shave everywhere, but that is consistent with a regular razor for me as well. One area I'd like to see more focus on is the neck region. I find that the only thing that really gets my neck good is a regular razor... My hairs go every direction and I end up taking longer than I'd like to shave that area with this razor. Also, the extendable trimmer on the back isn't the best - feels a bit weak for me. I use it around my ears and beard to get clean lines, but would like to see a stronger blade here as well. Lastly, and very importantly, is the base. Having a cleaning station that I can pop this into to charge and clean is phenomenal. It's bigger than I would have expected but not overly loud and I'm very happy with how well it cleans my razor after each use. This is a winner. I will not go back to another electric razor after using the Braun series. This is the real deal. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Let me start by saying with my job I'm required to shave everyday and a good razor is very important to me. The Braun Series 9 9295cc Wet&Dry Electric Shaver with Clean&Charge System is the best razor I've used. The pivoting head give the closest shave ever. The clean and charge system means you always have a clean razor ready to go. Thanks Braun you out did yourself on this one. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Something to know about this shaver is that they the recommended use is on 3 days of facial hair. So I have using this Braun Series 9 Shaver for about 2 weeks now and at different levels of facial hair including the 3 days. I like that it does not pull or yank my hairs like the older shavers I had before. I actually stopped using electric shavers because of this reason. All in all I like this shaver a lot more with the one exception that it doesn't get some of the longer hairs even after I go over the spot multiple times. I still end up having to use a razor to finish shaving. If I could figure out that why it is not cutting some of the long hairs then this would get a 5 star. It does give me a close shave, I think even closer than some of the razors I have used before. So I will continue to use this and try to make sure I am using it at all the right angles. Over the past 10 years I have shaved with manual razors and rotary electric razors. I face with a full facial hair capabilities so the reviewer needs to keep that in mind when reading this review. Manual razors by far make for a closer, smoother shave. The rotary electric razors have been used for in between shaves of the manual razors. When I tried to use the rotary electric razor for every day use it felt like I never had a close shave plus it would leave my skin irritated. If I skipped a day or two of shaving the rotary electric razor could not give me a reasonably close shave. Now enters the Braun Series 9295cc Wet & Dry Electric Shaver. The Braun 9259CC shaver is not a rotary razor, but a bar electric razor. This is the first time I have had a bar electric razor and it seems to cut the whiskers closer to the skin than the rotary electric razor and with less effort. Because of the less effort, my face did not seem as irritated as it did after using the rotary electric razor. The Braun shaver was still not as close a shave as with a manual razor. The Braun 9259CC shaver has the same issue as the rotary electric razor when waiting a day or two between shaves. It just has a hard time giving a close shave. All in all, I think the Braun 9255CC shaver is a better electric razor than the other rotary electric razors I have used, but if you want a close smooth shave, you will need to stick to a manual razor. I have used several other electric razors, both foil type and rotary. All of them, while shaving decent, had drawbacks. Either missing hairs or causing razor burn, I was never happy with any of them for long. This razor is the best of any I have used. It took a little over a week for my skin to get accustom to it, but after that it has been great. It shaves very close, and rarely misses hairs. It has a built in trimmer that works well, and the charging base also cleans ands lubricates the razor. It's also fairly quiet for a foil razor. I am very satisfied with it.
