It's easier for two people to put it together, but one person can pull it off. If doing it solo, I used a clipboard to hold the keyboard shelf up on the other side while putting in the screw. I don't see how the keyboard can be attached without another person to hold it or something for it to rest on while you put the screw in. The cart is a great small little size for a tight space, and I'm getting another one to hold another computer. It's cute, sturdy, and best of all, cheap. And you don't have to put the monitor shelf on if you don't need it. But if you put it on, the board has no predrilled hole, so you'll have to apply the screw anyway, to the bottom of the board, which attaches a wheel. The screw will pierce the board easily. The cart will fit a 20" monitor nicely.
Needed a small stand for my laptop that could easily be moved out the way in my tiny apartment and this works quite well. It is a bit shaky, but hasn't broken or collapsed. I would keep looking if you're rough on furniture. Putting it together was a challenge, but I managed by myself in about an hour. The instructions are all pictures - no words and the actual pieces aren't labeled. I left off the side platform because I don't need it. Overall, it looks nice and meets my needs.
This was exactly what I was looking for to downsize my office/bedroom footprint. It was easy to assemble for me but I can see for others that the pictures were not definitive enough and the lack of any written instructions to support the diagrams is a negative. Still it took me only about 30 minutes to assemble with nothing more than a phillips screwdriver. The materials were well packaged and protected and the hardware package was complete. This isn't a desk that will last a lifetime but for the money and my intended use, it's perfect.
My husband needed a small desk for his laptop and this is perfect. He did not attach the side piece, castors or keyboard because he didn't want those features. It still slides easily on our carpet. It's light weight, but sturdy. I like that it's attractive also. Can't beat the price. We looked everywhere imaginable for something half as good and most were cheap quality and overpriced.
This desk was the perfect size for my space limited application. It has plenty of room both on top and to sit under as well. I think it's probably priced a little too high for the what it's made from (light metal frame and plastic covered wood particle top) but it serves its purpose and there is not a lot of other options of this size and price range. It was also very straight forward and easy to put together taking approximately 15 minutes at most. I can't say much as far as durability goes as I have not had it very long but I think it will hold up fairly well with light to moderate use.
