The provisioning the watch itself is straightforward but the phone routing/sequencing is buggy. While the website states only three numbers, it also asks for #4 and #5 phone numbers and yet the call out goes directly to #4 skipping the first three. We finally worked through all the numbers and "believe" it is working ok now. The geo fence feature does not have any scheduling and is a bit unreliable due to the cell technology. We would get alerts that the child has moved out of the area if the cell reception is a bit spotty. I don't think Caref has misled us on this point, but worth noting. In any case, the reason I gave two stars is that the buckle (not strap) simply fell off within 30 days of purchase - cheap quality. But looks like this fairly common/expected - Caref has a replacement purchase on the website for $10. I think it would have been better if they allowed for an option to purchase quality straps from third party instead.

It took me awhile to understand this product after I purchased 3 of these for 3 of my children, but now I have to say it's pretty amazing. You get a watch with its own onboard GPS, SIM card (with its own network), micrphone and speaker. Where the magic happens is with the mycaref app which you install on your (the parent's) ios or android phone. It takes a bit of patience to set up the watches, choose the very reasonably priced service plans, and enter the emergency phone numbers/email, but once this is done everything is very clear: I have a dashboard with my kids' watches and from there I can locate them on a map in detail or call them if I want to. The phone numbers are assigned for the units so can be added to phone contacts as well. The call quality is surprisingly good although not designed for legthy talk but only quick check-ins. Cons for me are the non-kid-friendly buttons (there's no touch screen). I found the buttons a struggle. It took some patience to press the button in just the right way to place a call. My kids did manage to do it but it was easier to initiate the call from my phone. It's overall awesome that the call feature works so hassle free (no trips to a carrier store to buy service and set up). We used the watches at Disneyland and everything worked well. The GPS reported location with good detail. I could see which ride my daughter was on for instance. However the GPS signal wasn't always available so sometimes tracking info would lag. You can send an emergency locate but this as well wasn't immediate and I'd say a disappointment. Bottom line is nothing else does what this product does and for this parent's piece of mind--priceless.

Perfect for what I need. We had the Filip Smart watch (Filip 1 and then the Filip 2 with the redesigned band) but needed something for my older child. Our kids love walking home from school and playing outside in our neighborhood and I needed a way to locate and call them easily. I was pleased with Filip but the strap is just awful even with the redesign. Why they didn't make it like a real watch is beyond me. Anyway we just switched to the CareF 4 days ago and so far I am very pleased. Pros- Strap is awesome and fits younger and older kids. Ringer for calls and texts is nice and loud- and LONG. Perfect for loud kids on the go. Updates GPS every 10 minutes and is extremely accurate. Shows a history of where the watch has been. Genius. Water proof Kept a charge for 2 days Comes with two screen protectors Cons- Connection is pretty poor when making voice calls. Don't expect to have a full on conversations I can't set up the geo fence but will call cust service soon. Not crazy about the calling plan pricing. Overall it meets OUR needs. I want to know where my kids are and be able to call or text them when it's time to come home. The text feature blows Filip away because the alert is so loud. I don't think we will use the voice calling much since the connection is so bad but I like that they can call me if needed. This will eliminate the issue of the monthly price since I opted for the lowest amount of minutes.

I read a couple reviews about the customer service not being great but I couldn't agree less. I had a small issue with my watch and when I called, I actually spoke to a real person! They walked me through my issues and even recommended to send a replacement AND pay for shipment of my watch back to them. For $99, this product and company does MORE than what I could expect. I highly recommend it for families with kids.

Fantastic Product! Our family was just on vacation down in Florida and this watch made the trip so much more relaxing for my husband and I. The watches allowed our two 10 year old boys to run around on the beach and through the hotel without constant supervision. The geofence feature in the app setup boundaries that instantly alerted my husband or I on our phones if one of them happened to wander past their set boundaries. I highly recommend this watch to anyone with young kids!
