Char-Broil 1000 Sq in Deluxe Digital Electric Smoker- Stainless Steel

I am very happy with it. You could smoke enough meat to feed an army! The stainless steel grates make cleanup easy. The light feature is awesome during night cooking. My first smoker was a test model. This is the mack daddy of smokers.

Nothing but problems from day one. It would shut down trip breaker ... shut down mid smoke multiple times. Corresponded with customer service multiple times. They sent a thermostat kit, an element, then a control panel and still had issues. Until it wouldn't turn on at all. Pulled off the back cover and found connections completely disintegrated. It has been on the covered patio, with a cover in the dry climate Arizona...there is no way they should have corroded like that. I repaired the connections but still trips the breaker and is completely useless after a year and a half.

Works wonderful and is easier to clean

Overall, I was never impressed with this particular unit. From the moment I opened the box, the door was crooked, Charbroil did send a new door and latch which never solved the problem. There was always a huge gap in the seal, and the probe was off temp by about 30 degrees. As of March 2021, the unit quit working after about 2 years of ownership, and maybe 10 uses total. I thought it would be a simple heating element issue, which replacing would not be expensive at all. After opening the access panel to the heating element, luckily before purchasing the element, I quickly realized the connections had completely corroded and broke off, melting the wires, something I was not willing to tackle given I was planning on replacing the unit anyway. It did a decent job the few times I did use it before it quit working. I wouldn't purchase it again though.

It worked well the few times I got to use it....did what it was supposed to. I've owned this smoker less than a year. I've only smoked in it a few times. Now when I plug it in it either throws the breaker or gfi. Doesn't matter which plug in I use in my house or my garage I've tried several so the problem is in the smoker. Little disappointing I must say.
