COLEMAN 2W SOLAR PANEL

I started my car when winter weather came and could tell it might have difficulty starting if it got down to frigid cold below zero weather. I ordered the maintainer. I attached the cables to the battery and placed the solar panel on the dash. After a week of frigid cold I waited to see how it would start as in senior housing I had not gone out during the deep freeze. I went out to clean the snow off my car so the solar panel could get more of the bright sun today after the frigid cold. And I decided to take the cables off the battery to start it to see how well it topped off the battery. I didn't expect it that good. But my car started better than it had the other day when the temperatures had been moderately cold, before the frigid temperatures, ice and snow. It is about 30 degrees F today. It apparently did charge also through a slight layer of snow, about two inches. It did keep my car battery topped off, though the maintainer is only 2 watts. My car has security features I figured might drain the battery. But my car started like it was a nice warm summer day.

Plugged this in yesterday. Using it for car battery maintaining. Decided to check the actual output of the panel in full sun and it was putting out 24v. Not sure if that's normal or not. I bought two so I'm tempted to test the other but also don't want to take it out of the package in case I want to return it. I don't know if charging 24v consistently will harm my batteries.

So far this solar charger/maintainer has worked as expected. At only 2 watts, don't expect to recharge a low battery in minutes, but with patience it will maintain and recharge a battery prone to drainage.

Unfortunately after setting it up for several days it did not work. There should be a light of some sort on it to indicate charged or not - nothing. Very disappointed with this.

The package came and was left outside the apt building door. No alert it was coming, no quick door bell ring. If I did not hear a van door opening I would not know it was delivered . Package was intact and contained the solar panel.
