Conair GS28 ULTIMATE FABRIC STEAMER

Well, the steamer I had was terrible, took me about 5 minutes to steam a shirt because it kept cutting off and took forever to heat up. This steamer is 1000 times better than the one I had!! I love it so much!!! It heats up on seconds and the pause feature makes it easier for me to continue to use it. I sell clothing on Poshmark and eBay, this steamer just made my job so much easier.

This product does the job, but it's not very user friendly, at least when steam cleaning upholstery and drapes. It needs an extension for drapes, because the hose is too short, and hanging them on the hanger provided will leave them dragging the floor. The cord is also too short, yet the instructions warn against using an extension. I do like that it rolls-which is good, because the water tank doesn't lock down-but you're going to need a lot of outlets. It also tends to spit water as it's heating up, and the water doesn't last as long as claimed; that said, it does provide a decent amount of steam. I haven't used it on clothes yet, but I'm guessing it's probably better for that purpose.

My other steamer gave out so I purchased this as a cheaper replacement. It does it's job well, even though it's a bit weaker than my other one. It takes about a minute from starting up to when usable steam comes out. Good steamer, just wish it was a bit stronger in terms of producing stronger steam. Tips: Use distilled or purified water with no minerals so it doesn't calcify the steamer. Clean and rinse with vinegar regularly.

So far so good on this steamer which replaced and older shark brand which they no longer make apparently. This model seems to have a smarter design then the shark so I am hoping that it will last longer than the 12 months that the sharp has lasted. I did not use the pool that was attached because I found it a little difficult to install and I really didn't have much need for it at this point but maybe we'll try to attach it again. It heats up quickly within 30 seconds, is much quieter with no gurgling sounds and no spitting water which the Shark steamer did from day one! The hose is substantial and heavy duty and has a nice black cloth covering so that you don't burn yourself. They warned that these things do let out a lot of steam at very very hot temperatures so you still have to be very careful if you are adjusting to using a steamer for the first time. I also bought the extended warranty just in case because of my bad experience with the shark brand steamer which was covered by the Walmart warranty and they made good on it with no hassle. So far this seems to be a superior product and I do trust the Conair name for many many decades. If I have any issues on the steamer I will update my review to keep people informed.

I bought this a few months ago when I moved into my new home. I was using my daughters unit prior to moving and I knew I had to get my own. I use it for the dress shirts, suit jackets and pants. I also use it for my casual wear. I stopped using a iron months ago. I recently also picked up drapes and curtains and use my steamer on them as well. My wife love the fact that use it for everything.
