On one day when it was particularly gloomy, I just turned it on early from my phone...no plugging...no crawling. You'll need the app and it will walk you through step-by-step. I connected mine to Google Home too. "Installation" was super easy.

I love that I can control my lamp through my Alexa. Once I hooked to the wifi and downloaded the Enbrighten app it was easy going! I am looking forward to using this plug with my Christmas tree.
