I received the Expert Gardener 24 In. H x 50 Ft. L Galvanized Steel Rabbit Guard Fence from the Walmart Spark Reviewer Program. This fence is ideal for beginner gardeners like myself. It has stopped the rabbits from entering my little garden area. Since putting up the fence the rabbits have not been able to eat my little crop. This fence has been a life saver. I would recommend this fence to prevent the area animals from helping themselves to the young shoots, plants and blooms.
Expert Gardener 24 In. H x 50 Ft. L Galvanized Steel Rabbit Guard Fence I am planning on using this fencing around a small area that I call a garden to keep rabbits and our dog out of. I say planning because I need to get some fencing posts to finish the job and install the fencing properly. The galvanized rabbit guard fence is just the right size. It is about 24 inches high and could be used to enclose a pretty decent size garden spot. My garden is only about 5 feet by 10 feet. So there should be more than enough fencing in this bale. I'm using this fencing underneath our deck to limit access by small animals such as rabbits, skunks or dogs as well. For unrolling the fencing I needed gloves and a pair of pliers. The wire ends are wrapped very tightly and are secured with the fencing looped through the wire fencing and is nearly impossible to unwrap safely without using gloves and pliers. The fencing is galvanized and should hold up well for years to come. This galvanized rabbit guard fence is extremely sturdy and up to the task at hand.
Not only did I use this around the garden as fencing, but I took the extra and cut into about 3 foot lengths and rolled into tomato cages. I could make different sizes by varying the length. It easily cut with lineman's pliers or any other pliers with a cutting edge. Then I clipped and bent a few of the sections at the bottom to anchor into the soil. The smaller spacing at one end is also useful to set up as fencing for chickens since the close spacing keeps baby chicks from getting through.
The package containing the garden fence was slow to arrive, perhaps due to Covid. However, everything about it has been an absolute delight! The package was heavy but I could easily carry it in my arms 50 yards without any assistance. And it was immediately used the very same day as it arrived. The fence was extremely easy to erect and went up very quickly in a matter of minutes. The construction is Galvanized Steel so it will Not rust, which is a huge plus since that first night we suffered the remnants of Hurricane Fay with torrential rains and fierce winds. We are mostly surrounded by woods, and are regularly visited by an array of wildlife including skunks, raccoons, wild turkeys, fox, coyote, a large variety of birds, wood chucks and the occasional deer. A domestic cat also wanders through our area. This fence came just in the nick of time to protect the many vegetable greens from critters, as you can see pictured in the attached photograph. It's well built and really sturdy. The size of the holes in the webbing are ideal for keeping large animals out. Once in the ground, it measures 25” from the soil line to the top of the metal fence. The fence was used construct a perimeter of 17' x 5' which contains the vegetable garden. You need to supply your own posts for supporting the framework. The fence has been up one week in Southern Maine as of July 17. No critters have bothered the garden to date. I would highly recommend this fence to help protect your garden against animal pests.
I used this as the "floor"on a raised planter bed I am making. I used heavy duty staples to adhere to the inside of the sides of the planter. I used a ton of staples to hopefully hold the weight of everything that I placed into it. I then used landscape fabric, mulch, and plenty of planting mix. So far so good, it seems to be holding up well. I made an approximately8x8x8 planter and it was enough to do the whole project.
