I spent quite a few hours trying to find a swing that would fit the small open space in my back yard. This model seemed like a best option. It is cheap (less than $100), comes with two swings, does not need to be cemented, looks good. I checked reviews, and although I found a few people complaining about missing and wrong assembly pieces, most comments were positive. I thought like most reviewers I would be able to overcome the assembly obstacles. Man, was I up for a surprise. I picked the set at a local Walmart. The box was smaller than I had expected (it easily fit in the trunk of my RAV4). I opened the box and the parts seemed to be of reasonably high quality. I started to assemble the set, and immediately ran into problems. The first step of the assembly is connecting the two pieces of the horizontal pole. How hard could this be? Well, it was hard because the opening in one bar was not wide enough for the second bar to fit in. I had to tap the bars really hard, but this lead to another problem: how do you connect them so that the holes (for bolts) are aligned (assuming that you cannot turn the bars)? Well, I somehow managed to make one hole aligned perfectly, but the other three holes were not (and there was significant misalignment of various degrees). I thought I could just drill through the holes, but (a) doing so would damage the coating and I suspect cause rust, and (b) I could not insert the barrelnuts through the holes anyway. I checked all other parts, and none (not a single one!) of the holes was big enough to fit the barrelnuts. Also, almost all holes were not punched completely, which would cause problems even if the holes were the right sizes for the bolts. Now, the instructions actually mention that this is expected and advice the customer to break the hanging metal pieces, but this is really not possible (especially for the holes away from the sides) unless you re-drill them. Anyway, I cannot see how this set can be assembled. I have an impression that it was manufactured by hand and using rough eye measurements and whatever available instruments the workers had (can't find the correct drill bit? who cares, use a smaller one). It's amazing how this product can pass rudimentary quality control. I mean, did someone ever try to put the bolts though the holes? Anyway, I returned the set back. Note: I could not detach the horizontal bars, so I just returned them along with the rest of the parts (but not in the original packaging).
Bought this for our 3-year old granddaughter to use while visiting with us. It was a bit smaller than I thought it would be but will suffice during short visits. All parts were included, assembly was easy by myself. Assembly took about an hour.
My grandson was a year old when we bought this. It is just perfect for what we need it for. Removed the standing swing and replaced it with a "baby" swing for now and he absolutely loves it. Couldn't have asked for a more suitable swing set.
Between myself and my hubby, it took us 3 to 4 hours to put this up. Mainly because we started it at sunset and we worked into the night with hardly any light. Pretty easy to understand instructions, wasn't that hard, turned out nicely. I bought it for my daughters 7th b-day she's very tall and she could probably use it for a few more years. The only downfall is that you must anchor it down some way. The 1st time she used it, the whole thing almost toppled over so be VERY careful. Today I'm going to use a pair of post hole diggers and dig a 6 inch hole for each post and pack it down very well. I think you can buy the anchors for it online but it's a good little swing set.
I bought this swing set for my almost 2 yr old daughter, after reading reviews. This is a great first swing. It took me about 2-3 hrs to put it together as i am not really handy and i did not have any extra help ,to hold up the frame.Any ways iam pleased with the end result.I use the toddler swing from little tikes for now...which my daughter really loves. As some of the other reviews say ,i thought there was some mistake in the instruction manual regarding the screws to use.I used the longer screws initially for the main frame...but had to change it over as they were needed for the 4 legs. Then i tried to use the screws the manual has recommended to use for the main frame, which are the short ones[ which did not fit initially] .I was able to fit it perfectly after some tries. After all the manual was correct.
