It passed my destination without a word and directed me to parts unknown. Another time, it was silent as I veered in the wrong direction on a 3-way split and it did not re-calculate or give new directions. It tells you to turn in x no.of feet but it doesn't show how many feet away you are from the turn, so it does no good. When you save an address it does not let you name the location, so you'd better have a good memory the next time you search the saved places. My 4-year old Nuvi is much better than this one.

I have had this unit for about three weeks, currently traveling from New England to Florida. It does a nice job, and has many extra features. It is so easy to use and redirects without a hassle. The only minor flaw is that the power cord is not a common USB ( just a little bigger) so depending on where you place it, you have to use a cigarette lighter. Not a big deal- I really recommend this unit, works great and affordable!

Love this new one. The old one I had was not very touch sensitive that when typing in the letters it was always pain. The new one is much improved. Also, it seems a lot more intuitive to use than the my older one. Love life time map update and traffic info. It also has alternate route option in case of construction or traffic jam. It also shows the photo of the exit when you get close.

This is my second Garmin. Had a little trouble adjusting initially and still find it difficult to choose between available routes - if you don't want the one it chooses the maps of alternates are not easy to see. Overall it is better than the older version though still some room for improvement. Like that it tells you which lane you need to be in and has real photos of the road ahead.

had garmin before, bought a tomtom. sent it back and got the garmin nuvi 2555lmt. fast, recalculates a new route quickly. has traffic updates, speed limits, and elevation. much improved from my 2010 garmin.
