Gladiator - Vertical Bike Hook - Granite

I bought a few of these to hang out family bikes, and it works fine for skinny tire bikes, butb doesn't have the clearance to fit a modern mountain bike wheel and tire. Engineers obviously not interested in the mountain biker market. Dimensions and clearances should be better advertised.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I actually have found this bike hook to be a perfect holder for my glue dots gun in our shipping department. I used to hold the gun on a two prong hook and it would inevitably turn and fall as I worked in a hurry to get the shipments packaged up for UPS. Really found a perfect fit here.

Initially I was very happy with being able to use these to hook up my bikes. However, after a few times, the coating over these hooks ended up tearing on the end, exposing the metal, and ended up scratching up all of my brand new bike wheels. I have 4 hooks and 4 new bikes and this happened to every single one. It's like getting that first scratch on your brand new car. Super upsetting and disappointing and feels like the value of your new ride just got tainted. Pictured in the marketing pics is a straight on tire position hang. However, if your bike shifts and tire "slants" to the side, that exposed metal at the rounded end immediately scratches up your wheels. I tried putting duct tape to cover the exposed metal and that still didn't help. It seems they need to make their design wider so the hook part even it becomes exposed, won't hit the side of your wheel.

When I originally purchased a set of wall hooks and baskets I looked forward to see what else was out there. I picked up the vertical bike hook and it's a great addition. I used to hang my bikes from ceiling racks. With this hook, no more lifting. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
