GoTrax - SRX Self-Balancing Scooter - Black

I ordered this for my sons big Christmas gift and come to realize Christmas morning that we received the SRX Mini, not the Pro. Emailed them Christmas morning and still haven't received a response from them. I have a very disappointed kid that can't even use his gift!!

The item arrived on time. The box is damaged. We bought it for my 12 years old daughter as a Christmas gift. So my husband decided to open it secretly to try it first. Glad it still works and works great. We are looking forward to our daughter opening this gift at Xmas!

I purchased this for my son as a replacement from another brand hoverboard that failed quickly. This one is listed as more heavy duty so I thought it would last longer.... and was wrong. Hoverboards are notoriously finicky. We've used this about 15 times and as others have noted, the motor controller failed causing one side to start off as dangerous, then eventually failing altogether. The warranty is short and GOTRAX had no interest in standing behind their product (issue started under warranty but I notified them about 1.5 months past because I wasn't sure if it was really an issue or just needed to be charged/recalibrated). They were quick to identify the problem, and quick to say they wouldn't support it. Reading other reviews we see the motor controller is a known issue. They also couldn't get me the part to just fix it so they basically said "yep, we know the problem, nope we won't do anything about it, hope you bought the extended warranty". Word of advice to anyone thinking about buying a hoverboard... I never buy extended warranties, but have bought them on both of the hoverboards I purchased because of all the issues I see in the reviews and both of the hoverboards failed and luckily I did have the extended warranty. First hoverboard refunded me the price of the board and warranty. This one I'll be submitting the extended warranty claim today so not sure if I'll get the warranty refunded but at least I'll get this hoverboard refunded. I bought this one because it is billed as heavier duty, bigger and fatter wheels, etc. because my son uses the hoverboard seat. But it failed just as fast as the previous brand I bought. So be weary, hoverboards are not reliable, fail quickly, and they have short warranties. So for hoverboards... always get the extended warranty.

Bought this couple weeks ago, it's doing pretty good! it's cool rolling down thru the streets with it. it's a smart way of walking. i definitely recommend you get one. walking is for peasants btw (^_-)

Great hoverboard. Like the larger tires, a bit more ground clearance and cool fenders. Definitely have to ride this one mostly outside as it's bigger, it won't fit straight through our doorways. Lighter kids have had no problem manuvering it in the grass. Heavier adults might have troubles in the grass depending on strength/balance. Hopefully it lasts, looks like it should.
