Worked great and took out much more thatch than I realized I had in my lawn. I will say the cord is kind of annoying as you have to keep moving it so you don't run over it but the machine was easy to put together and works great for the price.

I absolutely love love this! It's just what I needed for my yard. I do wish the instructions mentioned putting the cord hooks on specifically. Didn't figure that out until I had it together. Diagram shows it, but nothing says it. I would love if it came with a collection bag! That's all that's missing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my house 3 years ago and the lawn wasn't well maintained. I used to manually thatch my previous lawn so I thought this would help. I thought I'd have more thatch but it cleaned up my lawn a bit so I could fertilize. I did it in the spring after two mows so the lawn could soak up the rains in Illinois. So far so good.

I wanted to dethatch our lawn and called a local business who quoted me a cost of $500. I figured I could do it on my own, but needed a machine to do it. I purchased this one because of it's cost and positive reviews. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase. It effortlessly pulled up a lot of dead grass on the first pass. I thought that the extension cord would be a bigger issue than it was. I had to move the cord occasionally out of the way. This added an extra 5 minutes total. The whole job for a 1/2 acre plot took a little under 1 hour with another hour added on to collect the dead grass. For something that I'll only be doing once a year, this machine offers great value.

I liked that the unit is as described in the product guide. Lightweight, easy to assemble, clear instructions and ready to work. The motor unit is loud and the unit vibrates in use. Dealing with the electric chord takes planning and interaction is needed. Stopping frequently was the last option. Overall performance was good and met my expectations.
