Hart 1/4” mini air drop die grinder overall has good quality out of the box. Came with the collet locking tools and threaded quick disconnect. Very useful on many small to big jobs. Only thing can suggest that some teflon tape for threads would come with tool.
The Hart ¼ inch air grinder comes with 2 wrenches, ¼ inch NPT male plug, I have a small hand and it fits my grip well. There is a safety trigger so that it doesn't accidentally run. The lever to make it run would be easier with a little bigger hand as for me it is a little hard to push the trigger up while pushing the lever down for it to run. Once it is down it is fine and works smoothly. There is a plug on the back side of the grinder covering the exhaust that must be taken off. Also, when you put the male plug in and then take it out. There is a little bit of oil on the threads. Makes it much easier to put the plug in without cross threading and it tightens easily. Also, easy to remove. Max. Load is 25,000 RPM The Collet size is: ¼ inch Operating air is 90 PSI Air inlet i: ¼ inch The hose size that is recommended is: (ID) NPT Avg. Air consumption is: 3.5 CFM @ 90 PSI This grinder is very simple to use. The air hose connects easily. Put your grinding piece in or your counter sink as I did and start working. I dropped a few holes with a counter sink in a 4 x 4 that is part of my fence. It had enough power. I will be using this a lot this spring as I need to grind off some nails and wood slivers on my fence and replace some of the longer screws. This will make it much easier for me to have the head start for putting the screws. The only thing that I really didn't like was the way you have to push the safety, to be able to squeeze the trigger. If my hands were a little bit bigger and I had a little more strength It would be no problem.
The size makes it easy to pack into the top tray of our small rolling compressor. it also makes it easy for arthritic hands to use, and in tight spaces. It arrived just before we started a bath renovation in an old home with only one receptacle. It was powerful enough to run a small reamer. A locking latch on the trigger is quite easy to engage, but locks back when you let off the trigger (good safety). The only drawback would be if you don't have a compressor or only a large one too far from your project.
This die grinder was the last piece I needed to complete my collection of air tools, for now. It's really easy to use. All you have to do, is add some pipe tape, and connect the included QD plug. After that, you tighten your wheel into the grinder with the included wrenches. Don't loose them, you'll need them every time you want to take off or put on a new wheel. I tested it out with my smaller 2 gallon air compressor. I got less than a minute use out of it. After looking at the box, it doesn't recommend anything smaller than 7 gallons. I tried my larger tank, and it worked great. I got a good amount of time out of the 90psi, and after a quick refill, I was ready to go again.
This was used on a gunstock to grind down a bedding compound. It worked well without requiring a lot of air so a small compressor was fine. You have to supply your own bits but it did come with a male air hose coupler. The grinding went quickly so I didn't have to spend much time on my project. I didn't read the directions but it was easy to hook up exactly like you would think it should. I am happy to have this and will certainly find jobs that this will make short work of to grind.
