HoMedics Black & Decker BD-81 Shredder

It was advertised as a crosscut shredder; it just cuts strips. It says 8-sheet shredder; it bogs down before it finishes one sheet! I would not recommend purchasing this shredder.

Shredded paper excellent but upon second use just stop working. No jams no over heat just stopped working really black and decker poor job on this one, will go with another manufacture. Not worth the money.

Do not purchase this product. It jams with three pieces of unfolded paper. After clearing the jams several times, I ended up returning the shredder. Not worth the money. I bought a cheaper one instead and it zooms through sheets of paper.

If you're looking for a shredder that will shred a few sheets of paper or light mail, then this is maybe it. But, if you have a pile of information that you're ready to destroy, you better look into something more substantial. The motor will become extremely over loaded if you try to shred a thin statement envelope, or a couple of sheets of copier paper placed together; this makes me feel that the motor will soon burn out. Another thing about the motor overloading is the fact that it will very easily over heat and shutdown. This will result in about a 30 minute wait before its operational again. When this unit dies, and I don't think will be take long with regular use, I will definitely choose a unit on a higher tier.
