Must be familiar with interview progression. Some items are hidden as to where you go to input info. Deluxe version includes a state but later you find out you have to pay extra to efile that state. And if you need more states, it is the same price as the deluxe cost AND again, you pay another fee to efile that second state.

I was a little disappointed with HRB policy change. When I have tax related questions, there's no support available. This seems to have changed in a last few years. I don't like that change. The software works fine. But when you stumble upon a question and can't complete your return, that's when you need some tax preparar to talk to.

You tried to charge me for a last year's tax product I already paid once. I needed to reinstall last year's tax software on my computer and I found out that my activation code is worthless. I know that previously reloading a prior year tax product done for free.

Don't understand why you can't support the opportunity zones especially now that they have been extended. At least include the information 8797 form. That would take about an hour to code (less with AI). Additionally, this years program had a glitch and wouldn't accept a value code A value on line 11 of K-1 which caused a number to be put on line 25k of the 1040. You wouldn't allow electronic submission with a value in that field and you said it was because the irs wouldn't allow it. However, turbo tax allowed an electronic submission of it so you just didn't update it for this year. Shame on you!

Generally, this is a good program. Certainly seems accurate, but I believe it could benefit from an overhaul to make it more user-friendly. I was repeatedly frustrated with a lack of coherent information, or difficult to understand information, when the system would block me from entering an item. I asked, Why? I was referred to an "answer" that, in fact, was not an answer, just a slight enlargement of the earlier indication that I couldn't do it. So, how is that helpful?
