I bought this saw 36 days ago and have used it twice between the rainy days. I have cut down 3 hedges with it and then it just will not start. It has always died at idle and I have to hold light throttle to keep it running, but lived with that the first couple days at least, now no matter what it just will not start. I have completely lost trust, my backpack blower starts perfectly every time so I thought I could trust Husqvarna, this saw is not reliable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had the opportunity to use the 435 Gas powered chainsaw last weekend to cut down a couple small trees and medium stumps as well as turn them in to firewood length logs. Chainsaw performed great! This is a great chainsaw for occasional home use.
I have to say I have really been disappointed in the 435, I owned it now for about six months, I have had starting issues with this saw. And sometimes it shuts off and when I go to start it back I have to pull forever before it finally starts. It really frustrating at times especially when I have a job to do.
This has been a headache since the day I purchased it. It leaked bar oil and gasoline right off the shelf. It then spent 2 weeks in the service department. They said they fixed it, but it continued to leak oil everywhere. Took it back for another 2-week visit. It stopped leaking oil, but would not idle correctly. I adjusted the idle, but then it wouldn't stay running. It will either idle so fast that the chain spins like crazy. I took it to another shop, and they told me to get another chainsaw. After new spark plug, filter, and fuel line, it just doesn't work. It was safe to operate because the chain would just keep spinning. The brake would stop it, but as soon as you released the brake, it was full speed again. Terrible product.
I bought this 41cc 2.2hp Beast 5 years ago. It is still the saw of choice when cutting up trees. It has great features like “Fast Idle” on startup, low vibration and solid power. Don't want to bash the White/Orange brand and their model 251 but it is a poor idling machine. My Stihl has been in the shop 2 times last year alone. Husqvarna still hasn't needed more than plugs and air filters after 3 bars and MANY run hours.
