Innova 3030 CanOBD2 Car Reader

This is a good basic reader. In the age of easily accessed information on the internet and the rise of the smart phone, who needs to pay double the price of this OBD2 reader? All you have to do is hook it up to your car, get the codes if any and then look it up on your phone or home computer. No more driving to the auto parts store to borrow theirs. The only negative is that it's a little slow to read the codes from the car but who doesn't have a few minutes?

This was easy to use and did just what I needed it to do. I had bought a different brand once on another online site and it didn't work and I never was able to get my money back. This time I decided to get one from Walmart and pick it up at the store. Then if it didn't work I could take it right back to the store. But I didn't have to, it worked great and I was able to fix my car.

Why pay $80 each time to the dealer to get a trouble code when you can buy this for around $60. It pays for itself the first time you use it. Make $20 a pop just getting trouble codes for someone! It has a sort of weak display, but if you angle it correctly that's not a problem.

Device only provides code numbers on the LCD screen. Could not download codes from the device to the PC. I tried several times to download the software from the device as instructed from the basic instructions included. Didn't work. Logged in to their web page and downloaded the software from there. Tried to download the codes to my PC and still didn't work. I have two computers. One runs Windows XP and the other Windows 7 Home Premium. Their software did not work on either computer. However, I'll keep the device and lookup the codes on the internet.

Used this product on both my vehicles and also my motorcoach. It found no problems on all of them. It appeared to be working properly. However, I believed it would also print out a diagnostic report which I could not get it to do. The disc software loaded properly on my laptop, however, I never could get the reader to communicate with my laptop. Reading the instructions was vague and the reader may only print a report when a problem is found. All in all, I was satisfied with its operation. For the price, it is worth it, especially if you have a problem.
