Had two of them 25 years ago (same company apparently), thought they were great, because they cleaned the air, and lasted for over 2 decades without changing any filters (both stopped working about a year apart) Couldn't find replacements that worked as quiet, or as well. This "new version" seems to work almost as well as the old ones, but the collectors aren't as large, and not as easy to clean (even if "more convenient"). Since I've moved, I can't really compare the old ones' operation directly to the 2 new, but the old ones had to be cleaned every week or two, or they'd start buzzing (which I took to mean they were working very well in a dusty old house), while the new ones have lasted a week without cleaning and barely dirtied a wiping cloth. I'm just glad to find these replacement negative-ionic air cleaners that gently move the air without a fan, whether they work the same, or almost as well.

Absolutely the best ionic filter I've had that is so quiet, exceptional easy to use %26 clean without additional filters or costs to keep forever! Gave my last two to a family member in need to cleanse their home from airborne bacteria! Owned them since 2011 %26 still works perfectly!

The air purifier is very easy to set up and use. I love that it has a cleanable filter which never requires any other filters to buy. The only thing to know is when you first use the air will have a very intense smell of ions so you may want to use when you will be away and set the fan on the furnace to be on. In time you will not notice the smell since it goes away, but can be intense. It does collect a lot of dust and I clean it every other day. I have two and love them.
