Kingston - A400 480GB Internal SATA Solid State Drive

Nobody is perfect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought the Kingston A400 - 480GB and sorry to report, was not impressed. Very difficult to install and once it was installed kept saying error on my computer. Went through the steps several times to see if I did something wrong however was still coming up with the same thing. Directions were also very hard to read and understand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had never installed an ssd before and it was quite an easy experience. I had a old 3.5" hard-drive that was so slow my start-up times after loading a fresh web page took 3 minutes. I used Macrium free cloning software and installed the Kingston ssd now on start-up i can have all my web browsers up and ready in 15 seconds. I wish i would have done this sooner i now have a computer that is faster than when i bought it brand new.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While not the fastest SSD, the reliability and the value of the Kingston Drives make them worthwhile picking up as media storage drives for music or video or picture collections. I use one of of these to store back ups of my save game data for when I delete an install of a game, and another for backups of home movies that I converted from VHS to digital.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was very easy to install and get going. I had a regular HDD drive before and it just took forever to boot up my laptop. This helps performance dramatically. I could probably still use some more RAM and a nicer graphics card, but I'm glad I went with the hard drive first. It not only allows me to boot up my computer faster, but it also gives me almost half a gig of hard drive space, whereas, I was only at 250g before.
