[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a well-made and professional-looking microwave with great features that doubles as a convection oven (although the manual could benefit from more details on how to use the latter). It's spacious inside and has a nice alert tone when your food is done. However, the hood exhaust fan is very weak even at the highest setting. Steam from the range below will often fog up the front of the refrigerator because the suction from the fan isn't great. Overall, not sure that I would buy this model again because of this one big drawback. It is an expensive microwave for this core function to be so underwhelming.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Feature very equal to the microwave it replaced with some additional and convection oven. Longer which will accommodate larger baking dish. Has 100 Watts less power which can require a little more cooking time.
We've had this unit for almost 3 months in our newly built home. It can't exhaust steam from boiling water nevermind if something is actually smoking on the the stove top. I know its a 900w unit too for microwaving but my grandmothers 30 year old unit is more successful at heating up food. Havent used the convection oven very much yet so no comment on its capabilities.
Brought this home and installed, attempted to make popcorn that evening, lights and turntable came on but nothing happened to my popcorn, then tried heating a cup of water same thing, water came out same temperature it went in at. Other features are working, baked muffins, used the fan, timer and light. Called customer service they are sending out a technician later this week, fingers crossed to add to my review. Very disappointing for such a expensive unit.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We replaced our 23-year old Whirlpool microwave (still working!) with this new KitchenAid unit. Heating the food of course takes a lot less time compared to our previous aging unit and the microwave is significantly quieter. We have used the convection heating a couple of times and it works fine. However, since the oven gets very hot in convection mode, using it as a microwave soon after is a bit risky due to all internal surfaces being hot, so that needs to be kept in mind. The new unit does stick out noticeably and the large door takes some getting used to. Because of the greater depth, the microwave covers more of the range area below and seems to get quite hot when there is cooking going on underneath it. Having 6 speeds for the fan is excessive and we typically only use two of the speeds.
