LeapFrog Leapster Explorer Camera and Video Recorder - Game console digital camera for game console - for LeapSter Explorer

This product was advertized as a camera. It is actually an attachment to make a handheld game able to take pictures. The product should not be listed as a "camera" when it can't work as one on its own. It was very inconvienient and I missed a good price on a real camera because of the way it was listed.

I was very disappointed in this purchase!! It advertises that is a CAMERA AND VIDEO RECORDER, on the box, in the description, everything!! I notice that even YOUR picture in this review say the SAME THING, WITH A PICTURE OF A CAMERA!!! Well, you don't get a camera at all. I opened the box and found a hollow cardboard space behind the picture of the camera and the only thing I purchased was an attachment for another camera!!!! I'm returning the purchase as it WAS NOT WHAT WAS ADVERTISED, AND SHOWN IN ALL OF YOUR ADS!!!

My son had great fun with this camera until it stopped working. I've tried everything, including buy a new one! but apparently there is something wrong with the software. I tried re-installing it but now LP connect says I'm not authorized to install it! Very frustrating .

My 3 year old loves his leapster explorer and has been dying for the camera. So we got the camera and he was so excited to use it, only to find out there was not enough memory to take any pictures. We had to remove some of his downloaded books and games so there was memory space. I would love to see a memory card that fits in the game slot to use for picture/movies taken with the leapster!! Very disappointed to have to remove games to use the camera. Other than the memory issue, the camera works good for a kid one!

I was very pleased with this product! Not only is the price good, but the resolution is pretty good, you can do video, and it comes with lots of extras. You can edit pictures in fun kid-friendly ways, play educational games using your pics, as well as many other customizable features. I've been wanting to get my son a better camera for him to use. This camera fits the bill. Plus, taking photos using the explorer unit is pretty comfortable since all the buttons are within easy reach, not to mention that the screen is large and bright enough to see your subject clearly.
