Purchased from Beach Camera because it is one of the few vendors that ship (and free!) to Hawaii. It took 2 weeks to arrive but eventually made it in a huge, somewhat banged-up, box. The heavy wall mount kit included in the TV bundle was loose and partially open in the same outer box that the TV was packed in. Fortunately, the TV was not damaged. This TV is phenomenal. The picture quality (brightness, contrast, 4k resolution) is amazing and everything hoped for. There are however a few caveats: (1) Cable TV video is not shown in 4k because, as stated in the Owner's Manual (pg 8), "This TV cannot receive Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) broadcasts directly because the related standards have not been confirmed." Most cable broadcasts are HD or less anyway so higher resolution video is only manifest through apps and only works seamlessly without constant buffering for internet speeds of at least 200 Mbps. (2) Since the TV comes with many pre-installed apps, I thought my Apple TV box would be obsolete. However, some apps (e.g., PBS, Hallmark, ... ?) are not available for LG WebOS, so Apple TV is still required for those apps. (3) Finally, the TV will not pair with Bose QuietComfort 35 wireless bluetooth headphones. It will pair with my Bose Solo 5 soundbar so bluetooth audio output works, just not with QC35. Again, Apple TV to the rescue. Despite these drawbacks, I am very happy with the TV and Beach Camera's service ... #sweepstakes
This Tv is amazing! The picture quality is great. There are plenty of reviews online that go into detail about just how great this television is so I wont bore you with my non expert opinion. I was debating between the 65 in and 77 in and ultimately decided on the larger screen and could not be more content. The screen is massive. The size and quality of the image really captivates and places you right in the scene. It pairs perfectly with the next gen consoles. I had input issues trying to hook up a PS5 with an inferior hdmi cable but those were resolved with an 8k hdmi cable. Some claim that these OLED panels don't do well in bright rooms, I have yet to run into an instance where I wished the panel was brighter and I have substantial amount of sunlight via large windows. The contrast is so great that when watching movies in a dark room with subtitles i actually have to turn down the brightness as to not hurt my eyes. The magic remote has a pretty nifty feature where it can be used as a mouse to point and click on screen. It also functions like a universal remote, so for example you can control a firestick with the tv remote. That being said the remote does feel flimsy considering just how pricey these tv's are. It also lacks a backlight which can be aggravating in a dark room. My only issue is the tvs built in speakers. At lower volumes the sound is echoey and sounds somewhat flat. Once you start to pass 25 % volume it really opens up a bit and sounds much better but honestly a dedicated audio system or a nice sound bar and woofer would give better results. Would have given 5 stars if the remote was backlit and the internal speakers were better. Worth every dollar. #sweepstakes
I'm really impressed with the picture and happy with my purchase. This is my first LG TV. It has a great remote and setup was easy. Everything just worked was intuitive and helped keep the excitement of a new purchase alive without being interrupted with set up headaches. #sweepstakes
I use this as a PC monitor for gaming and watching streaming sites. Able to get 4k, 60 hz, 8 bit , 4:4:4 chroma using this as a PC monitor with only my RTX 2070. That is the limit of HDMI 2.0. You do have to get an RTX 3000 series card to go reach 4k 120 HZ 4:4:4 chroma (HDMI 2.1) When using as a PC monitor, make sure to set the HDMI port you are using to PC or the screen will lag horribly. I have yet to run into the VRR black flickering issue I kept hearing about. I have yet to run into the chomasampling issues I've also heard about. Beware, some driver updates from NVIDIA cause the LG CX to not be recognized as GSYNC compatible monitor. Not having GSYNC on makes a HUGE difference. Just google how to revert back to an older driver version. Very happy with this monitor. It was, and still is, WAY too expensive, but I finally splurged on it. #sweepstakes
Amazing TV - screen quality is the best. Fits flat against the wall and only tiny depth. Sound decent for what it is. Overall 5 stars. Areas for LG to improve for next model include: 1) Smart TV app store - doesn't contain all the apps you will want to use so will end up buying a streaming stick (eg. Fire TV etc) or using Airplay from mobile etc 2) TV cannot record streams played from apps only from TV aerial 3) TV defaults to trying to play tuned TV stations when turned on - cannot be set to just start in Gallery mode (putting pictures on screen) or start in other apps 4) LG Voice recognition could be improved
