Mega Bloks Skybright Airport

My son absolutely loved this mega bloks airport when it arrived. The box itself grabbed his attention! Once we opened it, we immediately began assembling The airport. My 2 1/2 year old was thrilled. He loved the airplane as well as the two figurines that came with it. He was able to take apart the airport and easily assemble it back together to his version of an airport. He flew the airplane around the airport building while continuing to take apart and rebuilding the airport. The mega bloks airport has kept him busy for hours on end. We loved that even though he is young, the peices allowed him to configure a very recognizable airport with the perfect size bloks. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

the product being a MegaBloks, is great quality wise. the blocks, the figures, the other little parts like doors, windows, flaps, the airplane are all excellent quality, no sharp edges, smooth and sturdy for little hands, and great to handle. whats not so great is the design of the whole product itself. its meant to be an airport and thats all that it can really be. its not multifunctional like a simple stack of blocks. But that being said, the blocks are compatible with other products of the same company so you may have just got lucky by receiving a few extra blocks. the other design issue is the the structure when made up doesn't really stand up well, and kind of keeps falling off. We tried the vertical structure as shown in the pic and it certainly kept falling. the horizontal design was comparatively good.Also the assembly certainly needs parent intervention if being made for younger kids like for ours who are 3yr old. So here are the pros and cons in a gist :- Pros -- good quality --compatible with other MegaBloks --two cute figures and an airplane included ! Cons -- the structure does not stand up well for vertical assembly -- not really multifunctional, can be pretty much designed only in the two designs as shown on the box -- parent help needed during assembly for younger kids *** received this product for free in exchange of an unbiased review [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

My little boy is just over a year old, and he really enjoys the moving parts. He immediately gravitated towards the people and windows and doors. He absolutely loves destroying it. I imagine that the toy will grow with him as he gets older. This is nice because we will be able to use it for a longer period of time. I, like so many other parents of small children, own a large collection of the classic multi-colored Mega Bloks®. While these have provided many hours of imaginative fun, I was searching for something to recapture the attention of my 3 1/2 year old who enjoys a little more realism. The Mega Bloks® Skybright Airport set provides the perfect balance of both abstract and realistic building pieces and includes an airplane and two characters. Also enclosed are clear, picture-based instructions that help my son build confidence and gain the skills he needs to tackle more complex building sets down the road. Although I initially thought the realism would limit design options, this set retains the inspiring versatility of the classic Mega Bloks® as my son quickly deviated from the prescribed airport design and created some interesting giant robots! I highly recommend this set to anyone looking to start or enhance their child's Mega Bloks® collection! I will definitely be looking for more sets like these in the future! I received this item as a product review. I normally don't buy these type of things for my kids because there are too many specific pieces that they aren't ready to use. I have 2.5 year old twin boys. They initially enjoyed having the airport put together but quickly destroyed it and began freeplay with the blocks. They seemed to enjoy the actual airplane and two people it came with more than the airport as a whole. The blocks were like all of the other megablocks and did not always fit together correctly. It is difficult to keep them together because most of them are too loosely fitting. It may be better for younger children who don't have as good a grasp, or older children who would keep the airport together and use it properly. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
