I owned a set of Cup 2's on a Turbo S and felt good about the overall wear and handling for spirited street driving. They will be on my next vehicle too.
Great tyre apart from the soft sidewall construction... most track tyres have a much stronger sidewall. Due to the weight of my car the sidewalls wobble so it unsettles the car especially at tracks like the Nurburgring. Its a shame that Michelin dont offer the Run Flat version like they do on the corvettes in more sizes.... I think this would resolve the sidewall issue. My tyre sizes are 295/30/20 and 305/30/20
I have never put this much trust in a tire. That being said for on road use they are to sticky to the point they will roll small stones onto your windshield. Hate to look at my rockers. They come stock fro factory. Big rubber. 305/30ZR19. There is always a give and take with this type of tire. Thinking of going to sport pilots and hope for the best knowing the name “Michelin” ? I have a 2019 Mustang PP2 with 5700 miles and pretty well shot. I do not track the car.
I see a lot of negative reviews on this tire for thread life. It's a 180 thread ware (and that's being generous), what do you expect?? Like a previous reviewer has said, it's not for daily driving. It's for the track and getting to and from the track. And at that job I find it terrific. I've had this tire on 2 GT3s, a GT4 and a C6 Z06. I'm presently building a track day S2000 and that's what's going on it. Sure there are less expensive , more « durable », sticky tires like the Potenza RE-11 (loved it!) and the Hankook RS4 (it's fine!) but none give you the solid feel and grip of this tire (maybe except the Trofeo R but never experienced myself, and worst wear caractiristics).
These tires are meant for the track not to be daily driven. if you are looking to get these for your daily think again. No daily driver under 600 horsepower needs these tires. These are the toughest tires but there tread wear is terrible. DO NOT BUY FOR A DAILY DRIVER! AND DO NOT COMPLAIN IF YOU DO BY THESE!
