These almost need 2 rating categories. Overall they look great and are one of the best all terrain tires I've found, and I've tried numerous over the past 20+ years. Price is very competitive and it seems like nearly every size imaginable is offered. I put about 15,000 miles on these, a good portion of it off road, the first 60 days I've had them and they still look practically brand new. I've read a few reviews of people trashing them quickly and that doesn't seem like it's going to be an issue based on what I've seen so far. They do noticeably break in and get quieter IME, more so than I was expecting, but considering how chunky they are, they are still a very quiet tire from the start. My brother ended up getting a set after he tested mine out as well. For off road, I'd pretty much give these 5 stars across the board for an all terrain tire. They're obviously not going to clear mud like a MT tire but for an all around tire, these are great. The tread blocks are large and these just do what they're supposed to. Have no issues running with reduced pressure on stock rims either. For on road, I feel they leave quite a bit on the table. My main complaint is they are really flexible. I got the normal load rated tires, so maybe the heavier ones address this better, but the sidewalls have noticeable lateral flex even at low speeds when turning. It's not enough that I find it to be a safety issue but I could feel it immediately, and this was coming from some inferior Hankook's that were on their last leg. So, with that in consideration, if you drive mostly on a dry road, these are probably not what I would recommend especially if you have high speed limits in your area. If you spend a bunch of time on dirt and snow and want something all around more chunky than an all season tire, I can't think of another tire in the price range I would recommend over these.
I have had these on two vehicles. A GT350 and a Lotus Evora GT. The Mustang smoked the fronts in 4000kms with no track days. The rears were probably 30% at that point. The Lotus has 9000kms and 4 track days at to date. The rears will be good for another track session and fronts will probably outlast another set of rears. Overall a great tire. Would by again.
I have these tires on my GT350 (295/35ZR19 front, 305/35ZR19 Rear, and have around 7000 miles on them. It's time for a new set, as I'm at the wear bars on the rear, but they are the best tires for the money I've had on a sport/track car. Ive never had a tire issue with them, never lost a single psi (they are nitrogen filled). They are grippy, second gear hooks well when the tires are warmed up. A competitors tires I had would still spin in 4th. They have great comparative wet traction too. I will definitely buy another set. My car also does some everyday driving and they are quiet and composed, and you can confidently scare passengers on corners at triple or more the warned speed (heard from a friend hahaha).
I have never put this much trust in a tire. That being said for on road use they are to sticky to the point they will roll small stones onto your windshield. Hate to look at my rockers. They come stock fro factory. Big rubber. 305/30ZR19. There is always a give and take with this type of tire. Thinking of going to sport pilots and hope for the best knowing the name “Michelin” ? I have a 2019 Mustang PP2 with 5700 miles and pretty well shot. I do not track the car.
I see a lot of negative reviews on this tire for thread life. It’s a 180 thread ware (and that’s being generous), what do you expect?? Like a previous reviewer has said, it’s not for daily driving. It’s for the track and getting to and from the track. And at that job I find it terrific. I’ve had this tire on 2 GT3s, a GT4 and a C6 Z06. I’m presently building a track day S2000 and that’s what’s going on it. Sure there are less expensive , more « durable », sticky tires like the Potenza RE-11 (loved it!) and the Hankook RS4 (it’s fine!) but none give you the solid feel and grip of this tire (maybe except the Trofeo R but never experienced myself, and worst wear caractiristics).
