I have had a Keurig for the past several years but when my Keurig no longer worked I decided to try another brand. I still wanted a coffeemaker that gave me a choice of making coffee either by the cup or by the carafe and found a Mr. Coffee that I could do that with. I especially love that it is narrow and takes up less space than my Keurig Duo and I love that the carafe is a stainless steel one. It makes good coffee and I like that you can choose " strong" when making coffee and I also love that it beeps when your coffee is ready. A lot of nice features on this coffeemaker plus the price was really good
After my expensive coffee maker quit I decided to try this. I can't tell the difference in the taste of coffee between the two. It keeps the coffee hot enough to drink 5 hours or more. The pod system works well. The first two I ordered were defective which was very frustrating. The third one works fine.
Defective out of the box - The first time I went to use the coffee maker all of the water leaked out of the bottom of the machine when I filled the reservoir. Never did get to brew a cup of coffee using this machine so I can't give any details on that topic.
I loved the lack of counter space it consumed and the steel carafe. I also liked the ability to switch between the pod coffee and a regular pot. however, it leaked- profusely. Everywhere. I'm very sad. I threw out the box already, so I think i'm SOL. I'm not happy. I wouldn't buy this if I were you. You're taking a gamble. But if you do buy it, I hope it doesn't leak for you!
I followed all directions to prepare coffee maker. Filled reservoir to 8 cups to run initial pot of plain water. Before I could even push the "brew now" button, it promptly ran out on the counter. Within seconds, my counter and floor was one big puddle. I removed the reservior as fast as I could. I have repeatedly tried to troubleshoot, reseating and even removing the filter . Same result. If I could do 0 stars, I would. What a disappointment!
