These tires are amazing. I do a lot of highway driving and have towed over 15K pounds with these tires. They are quiet and stable at all speeds. I didn't sacrifice any mileage switching from BFG KO2's, which are garbage. I only run Nitto tires on my trucks because they have proven themselves heavy hauling, plowing snow and off-road.
I stumbled upon these tires when I was building my truck. I'll be honest, I originally wanted to go with BFG All-Terrain tires but BFG doesn't make them in my size (305/70R17). In fact, the only offroad tires I could find in my size were made by Nitto. I've got to say, after 40,000 miles on these things I'm glad I stumbled upon them. I push my truck harder than most people push their toys. Whether it be doing 100+ mph offroad in the desert, crawling over rocks or driving on icy/snowy roads in the mountains these tires have performed flawlessly.
I just replaced my first set of Terra Grapplers after 3 years and 80,000 miles and there was still about 3/32 of tread left. Overall they are great tires with even wear. I rotated the tires every 5,000 miles and hope the new set provides the same performance.
The tire is excellent for snow traction, wet and dry performance on normal roads. Unfortunately, it seems like the tread gets quickly destroyed by rocky trails. Also the sidewalls don't seem as reinforced as they could be, I had a sidewall puncture that turned quickly into a tear on an almost new tire. I was extremely happy with the tire until I saw how poorly it held up to off-road trails
I purchased these tires in January of 2015 and have put just over 40,000 miles on them and they still have good tread left! My driving consists on a lot of highway with off reading everyday to reach my worksite ( I work in the oilfield and the lease roads are pretty unforgiving with the holes and jagged rocks). I have driven these tires in all conditions (dry, wet, snow, ice and some pretty serious mud) I have never been stuck with the G2's but they do not clean very well in the sticky mud and you have to turn them over to keep them from becoming slicks. My overall rating of these tires is excellent (just wish they cleaned better). They wear evenly and are quiet running on my lifted 06 1 ton Ram have not succumbed to the weight of my Diesel engine as most other tires have in the past. I rotate them every 10,000 miles or so and they do not cup or round over as was my experience with other manufacturers tires. I am running 305/70/17 E range on 17x9.5 ultra predator wheels so they spread the tread out flat. Would definitely recommend these to anyone who does not want an extreme off-road tire but wants good all around performance and reliability but like I said if you get into any sticky mud they don't clean well. I will more than likely be purchasing another set of these.
