I came home from the hospital with my baby boy, and woke up the next morning SUPER engorged. I couldn’t sit up without holding them up. My baby wouldn’t feed, because it was like latching onto a bowling ball. At one point, he and I both simply sat in tears of frustration thinking this would never end! Then I went in my diaper bag, saw this pump, and my eyes lit up. It only took one session, and I was in so much relief. The suction is great, it doesn’t hurt your hands or tire your muscles to use, and it’s so conveniently portable! This product is one I’d recommend to many mothers, and would buy myself again and again. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The plunger on this pump keeps slipping out of silicon membrane and i have to put the whole thing back together every 10 pumps. Extremely annoying. Other reviews have said the same thing - so I guess this is a common problem. Cant figure out a quick fix.
For the most part, since I'm a SAHM my baby gets his milk straight from the tap, but every once in a while, he will get a bottle, and it's do much easier to just pump with this real quick to keep my supply up, than it is dragging out my double elec. Also, it is GREAT for long car rides. Baby gets hungry, pump him a bottle real quick and tada! I would definitely say there is a learning curve to any manual pump, but this one is fairly easy to work after some getting used to. I can't compare to other manuals, but it gets about half of what my medela pump in style advanced double elec. That's probably just because my hand gets lazy though. Lol
I always thought these things were archaic...but then I used this one (it was a gift). Now, I think they are SMART. Total timesaver- while baby is at breast, you can use this hand pump on the other. This is also great to throw in a diaper bag, purse, or car- then, you're never without a pump but you're also not carrying around the huge bag for the electric pump.
I won this breast pump in a promotion. Very exciting considering my old pump just wasn't getting the job done. I love the design of the pump and the handle makes it very easy to use. It's very effective at pulling the milk from the breast. My only issue is that at times it seems to be working a bit too well and feels like it's really pulling my nipple very hard. I am very happy with my new pump and use it whenever I get the chance. Manual pumps are the way to go!
