Pitera Mid-Day Essence

I am excited to have been asked to review SK-2 mid day essence spray. The brand seems to get very high reviews. This hydrating spray is a very fine mist that goes on evenly and is refreshing to apply. You can feel it drying on your face after it is applied. There is a minimal scent and it does not linger. Watch out, you will notice if the spray gets in your eyes but it is minimal discomfort. I feel like this spray does hydrate but there is a slight residue feel once it dries as well as a shine that seems more noticeable ( after a couple hours)on my combination skin. I did try this with no makeup, under makeup, and over full makeup and I do not recommend using it under makeup as it causes more oiliness. I also feel that this may make pores appear larger after it settles. This product works best over makeup and I feel that it would likely work best for people who are in need of additional moisture after makeup is applied. My normal routine includes a tinted moisturizer so that may be enough for me, other people may need a layer of moisture a couple of hours after their morning routine and this is good for that skin type. Overall, this is a good product but one that I do not feel I would need to add to my daily routine.

I've previously used setting/hydrating sprays similar to the SK-II Mid-Day Essence Spray, and in general I've liked them. The main advantage to the SK-II is the spray mechanism, which delivers a steady, soft mist that feels very light and evenly distributed (you can kind of see the spray coming out of the nozzle in my photo). It definitely didn't disturb my makeup, and would be especially refreshing if used straight from the refrigerator on a hot summer day. The two biggest deterrents to my buying this are the price and the scent. I actually had to wash my face after using it because the powdery, grandma's-perfumey scent gave me a headache. If this had been unscented, and more reasonably priced, it would have been a winner.

I've always wanted to try a mid-day spray but never knew which to use until I got this SK-II Mid-Day Essence Spray. After using their other SK-II moisturizer, I was excited to use this spray. Now I have an oily face, I wasn't too sure how it'll work for me. So mid-day, I sprayed my face and I have to say, it's definitely refreshing and my face doesn't feel as oily as before. Even though I do use the SK-II moisturizer and my face isn't as oily as before but with the spray, it almost feels perfect. I love the combination. Why the 4 stars and not the 5 stars? I had my friend tried the spray, who normally wears foundation. She said she felt a lil more cakey. So it's a good thing i don't wear much makeup but watch whether the spray is for you or not.

I honestly do not feel this was a product I would ever spend money on. The mist was refreshing however, I did not notice any changes in my skin. It was as if I had just misted cold water on my face. I do not wear alot of makeup so only tried a couple times over my makeup. I was glad it didn't cause my makeup to run. Overall, I have no complaints just not something I see investing money in to.

I have been using the SK-II Mid-DAy Essence Spray for a few weeks now. At first I thought it seemed like a very small bottle, but the sprayer is nice and fine so it only needs one or two sprays to cover my face and neck and seems to be lasting much longer than I originally expected. The fine mist goes on and dries quickly without sticky residue. It has a bit of a funny smell. Not a bad smell, but not a good one either... just funny. It instantly makes my skin feel moist, without leaving shine. I have used this on bare skin, over my regular moisturizer, and over make-up and it works for all applications. I did try spraying it on a cotton round to remove some under eye makeup and it did nothing to remove it, so this stuff is very gentle and not like a toner to remove makeup. This works amazingly to set makeup! In fact, I found it works better than some products that are meant specifically just to set makeup. The mist is so fine that it sets makeup quickly, dries quickly, and I also like that it doesn't leave any shine, greasy feeling, or spots. I would purchase this just for the purpose. With that said, it also works to moisturize and revitalize skin. On bare skin, this made the tight skin feeling go away with two spritzes, and lasted through the day. After being out and about and feeling like my skin needing a pick me up, a spray of the SK-II Mid-Day Essence Spray was cooling, and refreshing. Honestly, if it smelled even a tiny bit more pleasant (again it isn't unpleasant, just weird) then it would have a 5 star rating from me. I will definitely purchase this to replace my bottle once I run out.
