Got my Pleasant Hearth Large Wood Stove last month and I love it. I will say that this stove burns very efficiently and heats my 24'x36' workshop with 12' ceiling better than my old stove. Although this stove is smaller than my previous stove it burns more efficient and uses less wood. I read some reviews about draft issues but found once you get the box up to temperature the stove drafts fine. Use smaller logs to get bed of coals before putting on a banking log for long burn. Using dry, seasoned wood is the key to any hot fire. This is my first stove with a glass door and was a little hesitant so I make an effort to keep logs toward the rear. Great stove and I definitely recommend Pleasant Hearth.

There was some damage during shipping, but GHP made good on it, I am more than satisfied with their response. I have a 1500 sq ft well insulated house in SW Missouri, it was 20° last night, I put two small logs in at 9 pm, at 5 AM I got up & it was 70° in the house. This is the third house in 40 years I have heated with wood, this stove, in combination with improved insulation, will require the least amount of wood I have ever needed. The stove steel thickness is less than some of the high (x2) dollar stoves I have seen, but should be adequate. The size of the firebox (2 Cubic feet) is on the small side, but it does not require much wood. Price varies a lot, but performance to price ratio looks to be very high. We bought this to replace a very old woodstove that was much bigger than the Pheasant Hearth. I was nervous it wouldn't heat our home quite as good as the old one did but it has exceeded it! Very happy with our purchase. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I bought this stove a month ago. Just hooked it up and it works better than ever expected. Here in Michigan it will definitely be a saver in energy and money and almost needed in the winter!! Very impressed with the price compared to competitors and it does not disappoint!! Highly recommended! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is the second year to heat with this stove. I waited to write a review to see how it was going to perform. I had purchased it to replace a smaller wood stove. Each stove has its own "personality" and there is a small learning curve to get it to perform at its best. My home is 1350 ft ranch upstairs and a full finished basement located in southern Missouri. The stove is installed in the basement and is supplement heat for central heat system. In 30-40* weather the stove heats the entire home running low to mid range if you keep feeding it wood. Lower temps the central heat will kick on if the stove is set low for the night. In extreme cold the stove cannot heat the entire home as acts as a supplemental heat. I use 4-6 rick of dry wood (4hx8L cut 18"L) per season. To operate the stove it is important to take a fire tool and create an air channel in the center of the ash front to back so air flows well and the wood will burn hot. It burns all wood to ash and the most difficult challenge I have had is learning to bank a night fire so I will have a few coals to start my morning fire. So far I am very pleased with this stove!
