Sauder 3-Shelf Bookcase, Matte Black

Honestly, I used site to store to ship it and they didn't bother shipping it from the warehouse to the store until after the projected shipping time had passed. So after it taking forever to get here, I easily put it together and put it up (note: the directions in the box are actually for another Sauder model bookcase so be prepared for a little confusion with the pictures. If you know your model number you can double check how many pieces of what you really should have. It will not match up with the pictures). The backing is regular poster-cardboard so it's obvious you have a pretty weak backing, but if you don't plan on using it for several years or pushing anything extremely heavy onto the backing, it should be okay. It is however, very noticeable from a distance. I didn't have any scuffing/scratching problems with it and it was light enough for a woman like me to have no problem putting it in my car and then carrying it up the steps to my place. If you are looking for a short-term, big, generic bookcase, this is probably what you need. If you need something more longterm, keep looking elsewhere. It looks nice and shiny, but I know after a couple of years I'll be upgrading to something nicer, more durable and more classy than this.

This product is, in my opinion, a $39 piece of junk. Assembly is awkward and the press board is so low-grade that can't hold the screws. If you have to have this bookcase, I would suggest using wood glue and assembling it where you want it to stand because it's just waiting to fall apart with the slightest move. The corners came damaged, but that might have happened in shipping.

My husband put this bookshelf together and found it relativaly easy. However, he said that the existing screws made the bookshelf very flimsy, so He put small screws into the holes supporting the shelves and it worked fine. He said the directions were pretty easy. I would definitely recommend this bookshelf. It really gave our living room a nice look.

I bought this small book case for my daughters overflow of books and folders. The have shelves in their room but not enough space. This one is small enough to fit in our hall just outside their room and looks really good. It was easy to assemble and looks great. Make sure to add the bottom kick plate before the shelves. My nephew put it together we were going to have to take it all apart and decided instead it looked fine without it.

Very easy to put together, looks great, and is light weight/easy to move around. Very sturdy, holds an old 60lb tube TV and VCR/DVD combo on top, with my entire DVD collection (and room to spare) on the shelves. Probably going to buy another in the future!
